The National Institute of General Medical Sciences (NIGMS), Division of Extramural Activities (DEA), Grants Administration Branch (GAB) is seeking candidates with robust experience managing grants and cooperative agreements for the organization. We are looking for candidates with strong leadership skills to supervise a staff of knowledgeable and enthusiastic specialists.

Duties
Oversee the planning, reviewing, negotiating, awarding, monitoring and managing of grants and cooperative agreements.
Supervise a team of Grants Management Specialists, providing technical and administrative direction, as well as mentoring and training.
Perform the full range of a variety of complex tasks and special projects, involving grant activities, including pre-application inquiries, pre-award administrative review, negotiation and development of awards, and post-award administration.
Exercise signatory responsibility ensuring that all awards are made in accordance with provisions of applicable Federal statutes and regulations, as well as DHHS policies.
Represent the Institute on various meetings within the grants community.
Requirements

Qualifications
In order to qualify for the GS-14 level, you must meet the following requirements:
You must demonstrate in your resume at least one (1) year of qualifying experience equivalent to at least the GS-13 level in the Federal service obtained in either the private or public sector, performing the following types of tasks: evaluating the management aspects of grant or cooperative agreement applications; interpreting and providing technical assistance regarding complex grants-related policies and procedures; resolving complex and controversial post-award problems surrounding the monitoring of grants or cooperative agreements; and developing criteria and standards for the planning, implementation and evaluation of grant or cooperative agreement proposals.
