The ideal candidate will have an engineering background in one or more of the following areas: mechanical, electrical, systems, or aerospace. The idea candidate will have experience in one or more of the following: Interface development and management, weapon systems, systems integration, or standard systems engineering practices as they relate to weapon systems.
DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITES:
Supervise a team of multi-disciplined engineers to achieve LRSO Integration IPT priorities that includes all aspects of integrating the missile system with delivery platforms as well as the nuclear payload into the missile.
Lead technical management activities for the Integration IPT, and task engineering team members daily responsibilities.
Advise Chief Engineer on technical matters of integration and system development.
Develop and supervise the development of technical documentation that support system engineering technical reviews. This includes configuration audits and system verification reviews.
Advise IPT and Division leadership on technical risks and issues effecting the cost, schedule, and performance during development, test and evaluation, and fielding, and sustainment of the LRSO.
Develop and present technical briefings and reports to Senior Executives.
Engage with geographically dispersed stakeholders including the AFNWC, Department of Energy, National Nuclear Security Administration, Air Force Global Strike Command, and Department of Defense (DoD) officials to ensure LRSO technical activities are successfully planned, coordinated, and executed.
KNOWLEDGE AND SKILLS:
Candidates should have demonstrated technical engineering leadership in the integration development of weapon systems.
Candidates should have demonstrated technical engineering experience in verifying interface requirements.
Candidates should have demonstrated experience leading in a team environment.
Candidates should have strong leadership and communication skills.
Candidates should have demonstrated experience conducting systems engineering design reviews (SETRs), reviewing drawings and analysis, planning validation and verification events, reviewing test plans and test reports, chairing test readiness reviews (TRRs), facilitating failure review boards (FRBs), and support all-up round (AUR) level tests.
Candidates should be knowledgeable in DoD acquisition processes, to include but not limited to: risk and opportunity management processes, configuration control board processes, and Government Control Account Manager (GCAM) processes.
Candidates should have a strong background in professional scientific or engineering principles, modeling and simulation frameworks, requirements development, and verification activities.
It is desirable for candidates to have experience in the development, test and evaluation, fielding, and/or sustainment of cruise missiles.

- Required to handle and safeguard sensitive and/or classified information in accordance with regulations to reduce potential compromise; employee must obtain and maintain DOD Top Secret security clearance.

- This is a drug testing designated position. The incumbent is subject to pre-employment drug testing as a condition of employment, and participation in random drug testing.

- Employee must meet Defense Acquisition Workforce Improvement Act (DAWIA) requirements, which includes achieving Engineering and Technical Management “Practitioner” certification category within required timeframe after appointment.
- At minimum, a professional engineering degree at the bachelor’s level from an ABET accredited institution is required. A professional engineering degree at the master’s level from an ABET accredited institution is highly desired.
- This position has been designated as an acquisition position and is covered by the Acquisition Professional Development Program (APDP). Work requires the appropriate certification and must be obtained within 24 months of employment.
- Employee must within 30-days of assuming this position and annually thereafter, file an OGE-450, “Confidential Financial Disclosure Report.”
Employee is required to attend annual ethics and procurement integrity training.

KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS AND ABILITIES (KSAs): Your qualifications will be evaluated on the basis of your level of knowledge, skills, abilities and/or competencies in the following areas:
1. Knowledge of a wide range of advanced multidisciplinary professional engineering concepts, principles, practices, standards, methods, and techniques to apply experimental theories and new developments to problems not susceptible to treatment by accepted methods, and to plan and execute specialized programs of marked difficulty, responsibility, and significance.
2. Knowledge of the mission, roles, functions, organizational structure, and operation of the DoD, Air Force, and organizations that govern, interface with, and/or influence systems acquisition, development, and/or sustainment; and knowledge of planning, programming, and budgeting cycles, financial systems, and restrictions on expenditure of funds.
3. Knowledge of and skill in evaluating state-of-the-art and advancements in theory, application, technology, and policy affecting systems being developed, and in planning, organizing, and directing the functions and staff in critical aspects of development, production, and/or support of systems, subsystems, or equipment.
4. Knowledge of safety, security, personnel management, and EEO regulations, practices, and procedures.
5. Skill in establishing and maintaining effective relationships, building consensus and coalitions, negotiating, and resolving conflicts with a variety of individuals and organizations as well as communicating effectively, both orally and in writing.
