This position is located at Treasury, Departmental Offices in the Office of the Fiscal Assistant Secretary. As a Senior Fiscal Policy Advisor, you will be responsible for a broad range of policy/operational matters related to fiscal activities of the Treasury such as cash management, debt financing, investment and administration of trust funds, payments, collections, administration of certain cash assistance programs, the management of financial agents, and more.
Duties
As a Senior Fiscal Policy Advisor, you will:
Provide staff support to the Assistant Secretary (AS) and Deputy Assistant Secretary (DAS) in all areas of OFAS responsibilities, by identifying, formulating, planning, developing, coordinating, conducting, evaluating, implementing, and carrying out a wide range of in-depth technical fiscal analysis, research, studies, and special projects.
Assist the AS and DAS in the preparation for daily meetings and activities, conferences, etc.
Initiate and participate in meetings and conferences to provide information, guidance, and advice on matters having an effect on policy and operational matters and activities that may result in the formulation of new or revised administrative and management support policy.
Lead or participate in high-level task forces examining complex issues affecting Treasury.
Qualifications
You must meet the following requirements within 30 days of the closing date of this announcement.
SPECIALIZED EXPERIENCE: For the GS-15, you must have one year of specialized experience at a level of difficulty and responsibility equivalent to the GS-14 grade level in the Federal service. Specialized Experience for this position includes:
Presenting findings to stakeholders through written products and oral briefings; OR
Providing information and guidance on matters that may result in new or revised policy; OR
Providing updates to senior officials on progress, issues, or statuses of special projects; OR
Developing, preparing, and producing policy statements, written materials, including briefing or issue papers, and memoranda for senior officials; OR
Conducting research related to federal financial management policies.
The experience may have been gained in either the public, private sector or volunteer service. One year of experience refers to full-time work; part-time work is considered on a prorated basis. TIME-IN-GRADE: In addition to the above requirements, you must meet the following time-in-grade requirement, if applicable: For the GS-15, you must have been at the GS-14 level for 52 weeks.
TIME AFTER COMPETITIVE APPOINTMENT: Candidates who are current Federal employees serving on a non-temporary competitive appointment must have served at least three months in that appointment.
