This position is located in the Department of Homeland Security, U. S. Coast Guard, Aviation Logistics Center, Industrial Operations Division (IOD), Industrial Production Branch, Elizabeth City, North Carolina.

Duties

The role of this position is to supervise subordinate workers either directly or indirectly through subordinate leaders in aircraft overhauls trades and labor work.Being a Coast Guard civilian makes you a valuable member of the Coast Guard team.  Typical work assignments include:

• The applicant is subject to pre-appointment and random drug testing.
• Subject to overtime or recall.
• May be required to fly on Coast Guard aircraft.
• Rotating shift work may be required.
• Occasional Temporary Additional Duty (TAD) is required.

ABILITY TO INTERPRET INSTRUCTIONS, SPECIFICATIONS, ETC. (INCLUDES BLUEPRINT READING). KNOWLEDGE OF EQUIPMENT ASSEMBLY, INSTALLATION, REPAIR, ETC. TECHNICAL PRACTICES ( THEORETICAL, PRECISE, ARTISTIC). ABILITY TO USE AND MAINTAIN TOOLS AND EQUIPMENT. USE OF MEASURING INSTRUMENTS. TROUBLESHOOTING. Qualifying experience includes experience leading / supervising various skilled trades ranging from the apprentice level to the journeyman level in repair and maintenance of aircraft systems and components.National Service Experience (i.e., volunteer experience): Experience refers to paid and unpaid experience, including volunteer work done through National Service programs (e.g., Peace Corps, AmeriCorps) and other organizations (e.g., professional; philanthropic; religious; spiritual; community, student, social). Volunteer work helps build critical competencies, knowledge, and skills and can provide valuable training and experience that translates directly to paid employment. You will receive credit for all qualifying experience, including volunteer experience.
