About the Position: The position is located at the Maneuver Center of Excellence, US Army Armor School, Fort Moore, GA. Fort Moore, GA is located 100 miles south of Atlanta and is adjacent to Columbus, GA and Phenix City, AL. The geography and climate are ideal for year-round military training. Public transportation and free parking is available.
Duties
Assist individuals in developing needed evidence, preparing required documents and resolving errors, delays or other problems in obtaining benefits or fulfilling obligations.
Provide information to clients on rights, benefits, privileges or obligations under various laws, judicial decisions, regulations and policies by explaining legal provisions, regulated and administrative practices.
Provide administrative support to clients such as answering questions, scheduling appointments for attorney consultations and typing up documentation.
Prepare legal and non-legal documentation for clients to be reviewed by attorney.
Requirements
- Appointment may be subject to a suitability or fitness determination, as determined by a completed background investigation.
- The work may require occasional TDY travel with the Trial Counsel to interview out of state witnesses or to attend professional development training.
- The work of this position may require the employee to work irregular hours in support of trial times and witness availability, etc.
- Work may require working alternate or flexible work schedules in conjunction with courts martial. Some overtime work, night work, weekend work, and Holiday work may be required.
- This position requires to be able to obtain and maintain a determination of eligibility for a Secret security clearance or access for the duration of employment. A background investigation and credit check are required.

Specialized Experience: One year of specialized experience which includes: Must have 2 of 4: 1. Searches records, references, regulations, precedents, procedures, and/or historical files pertaining to legal activities. 2. Prepares documents pertaining to legal actions. 3. Drafts legal correspondence and/or messages assisting with case reviews. 4. Uses automated software to input legal data or update a database and to retrieve data. This definition of specialized experience is typical of work performed at the next lower grade/level position in the federal service (GS-05).
Education
Some federal jobs allow you to substitute your education for the required experience in order to qualify. For this job, you must meet the qualification requirement using experience alone--no substitution of education for experience is permitted.
