Duties
The following are the duties of this position at the GS-14. If you are selected at a lower grade level, you will have the opportunity to learn to perform all these duties, and will receive training to help you grow in this position.
As a/an Senior Advisor, you will:
Receive broad, objective or goal-oriented assignments such as programmatic and administrative projects which are often complex and controversial, and that have nationwide impact on CPD programs and staff.
Conduct analyses of problems or issues that relate to program implementation or administrative issues, and makes recommendations regarding corrective actions, program changes, implementation strategies, and modifications or development of policies, regulations, requirements, and procedures.
Work closely with executives, managers, and supervisors in the headquarters and field offices in coordinating projects or initiatives identified.
Qualifications
You must meet the following requirements by the closing date of this announcement.
Specialized Experience: For the GS-14 grade level, you must have one year (52 full weeks) of specialized experience at a level of difficulty and responsibility equivalent to the GS-13 grade level in the Federal service. Specialized Experience for this position includes:
-Participating in program planning, administration, and policy development;
AND
-Assisting with defining strategic goals, determination of resource requirements, and sources for obtaining resources;
AND
-Monitoring progress in meeting critical objectives and assessing accomplishments.
Specialized Experience: For the GS-13 grade level, you must have one year (52 full weeks) of specialized experience at a level of difficulty and responsibility equivalent to the GS-12 grade level in the Federal service. Specialized Experience for this position includes:
-Providing advice and direction to senior management;
AND
-Determining program requirements and strategy development;
AND
-Assisting with policy and program development.
Experience may have been gained in either the public, private sector or volunteer service. One year of experience refers to full-time work; part-time work is considered on a prorated basis.
