About the Position:
This position is located within Blanchfield Army Community Hospital, Fort Campbell, Tennessee. The incumbent will work independently to carry out assignments of a recurring, special or unique nature, using personal initiative, time management skills, or defined processes to complete assignments within prescribed time frames.
Duties
Serve as point-of-contact for all administrative matters generated by or affecting the Department.
Prepare and coordinate purchase requests for the department, tracking expenditures.
Utilize the Defense Travel System (DTS), prepares itineraries and establishes contact with supervisor as necessary during trips to obtain for staff advice on procedures, reports,
Receive telephone calls and visitors.
Type a variety of correspondences such as meeting minutes, memorandums, letters, fliers, newsletters,posters, and reports, which contain a wide variety of technical terminology.
Use a personal computer with various office automation software packages including Microsoft Office to type a wide variety of material to include correspondence and reports.
Requisition office supplies, printing support, and related materials.
Serve as the Alternate Hand Receipt holder for the clinic and assists with systematic inventory of the department assets and complies the information into the appropriate forms to meet the guidelines.

- Occasional TDY required - 5%.
- This position may require irregular tours of duty.
- This is an inclement weather position. The incumbent is expected to make every attempt to report for duty on time and/or remain on duty during inclement weather conditions.

Specialized Experience: One year of specialized experience which includes performing office administration support duties; such as, Maintaining supervisor's calendar, making appointments and scheduling meetings; maintaining a suspense file of official actions and taskings, following up on status of suspense actions; preparing and coordinating purchase requests; typing a variety of correspondences (meeting minutes, memorandums, letters, reports, etc.); requisitioning office supplies, printing support, and related materials. This definition of specialized experience is typical of work performed at the next lower grade/level position in the federal service (GS-05).
Some federal jobs allow you to substitute your education for the required experience in order to qualify. For this job, you must meet the qualification requirement using experience alone--no substitution of education for experience is permitted.
Proficiency Required: This position requires a qualified typist. A qualified typist can type 40 words per minute based on a 5-minute sample with three or fewer errors.
