Serves as Materials Expediter in the Pentagon Building Management Office (PBMO) Dockmaster operation and is responsible for obtaining, receiving, identifying, routing, issuing, storing, re-warehousing, and expediting supplies, parts, equipment, tools and other materials for Department of Defense (DoD) organizations in and around the Pentagon Reservation.

This position is being filled under Direct Hire Authority (DHA) in accordance with Section 1109 of FY 2020 NDAA; P.L. 116-92 and Section 9905 of title 5, U.S.C.

Incumbents typical work assignments may include the following:
Expedites priority items through the supply and procurement process by coordinating with customers throughout the Pentagon facility and various commercial vendors responsible for providing material and delivery services for DoD organizations.
Tracks and monitors priority material movement and arranges the expedited delivery to support customer requirements.
Receives priority materials for various Pentagon organizations and checks for the appropriate quantity and condition. Accepts or rejects inappropriate or damaged materials and informs customers as required.
Operates electric, gasoline, or diesel powered forklift trucks in order to lift loads weighing under 10,000 pounds as high as 168 inches.

Qualifications
Your background must demonstrate a full range of common Materieal Expediter tasks including: receiving and delivery of material; keeping accurate records regarding receipt of materials; handling controls for starting, stopping, backing, lifting, lowering, tilting, and driving fork lift trucks through narrow aisles, up and down ramps, and in and out of trucks and handling controls for starting stopping, backing and driving the vehicle.
EXPERIENCE: A specific length of training and experience is not required, but you must show evidence of training or experience of sufficient scope and quality of your ability to do the work of this position. Evidence which demonstrates you possess the knowledge, skills, and ability to perform the duties of this position must be supported by detailed descriptions of such on your resume. PHYSICAL EFFORT/REQUIREMENTS: Stands, stoops, bends, and works in tiring and uncomfortable positions. May be required to work at a rapid pace for prolonged periods. Frequently lifts and carries material weighing up to 45 pounds, and at times may handle items weighing over 45 pounds. Moderate physical effort is used in operating trucks and forklift hand and foot controls while driving, turning, starting, stopping, raising, lowering, and tilting loads being moved.
WORKING CONDITIONS: Regularly exposed to possible injury associated with handling equipment. Work is usually performed indoors in well-lighted and ventilated holding areas or shop areas. May be exposed for short periods to outdoor conditions. Regularly exposed to shop noises, dirt, dust, fumes, and vibrations. May be required to wear protective clothing such as steel toed shoes, safety glasses, or gloves.
