You will serve as a Temporary Service Shops Supervisor II in the Production Resources Department- Temporary Services, Shop 99 of PSNS and IMF.

Duties

You will plan assignments on an immediate and long-range basis in accordance with schedules and priorities established by higher-level supervision and/or project management. You will monitor work operation, review completed work and inspection reports to ensure production and quality standards are met. You will determine staffing, tooling, material availability and methods to be used to support specific projects. You will coordinate with project managers matters such as human resource needs, work breakdown and risk mitigation. You will direct, coordinate, and organize the work activities and personnel of the units supervised. You will monitor, asses, and correct subordinates as needed and serve as a leader and mentor the employees assigned to their work unit. You will oversee complex job assignments including but not limited to docking evolutions of nuclear and non-nuclear naval assets, environmental protection and various disciplines of nuclear work. You will administer rules and regulations regarding conduct, safety, and housekeeping and maintain discipline and adjusts complaints and grievances among subordinates.

  • You will be required to successfully complete a pre-appointment physical examination.
  • You will be required to obtain and maintain an interim and/or final security clearance prior to entrance on duty. Failure to obtain and maintain the required level of clearance may result in the withdrawal of a job offer or removal.
  • You will be required to complete training, obtain, and maintain a government credit card for travel and travel-related purchases.
  • You will be required to wear personal protective equipment such as helmets, gloves, coveralls, glasses, goggles, respirators and safety shoes continuously for the duration of the work shift.
  • Work is performed in areas where potentially harmful physical and chemical agents are present (e.g. fumes, dust, heat, ionizing and non-ionizing radiation and chemicals). You will be required to participate in medical surveillance programs.
  • This position may require travel from normal duty station to CONUS and OCONUS and may include remote or isolated sites. You must be able to travel on military and commercial aircraft for extended periods of time.
  • You will be required to obtain and maintain a U.S. Passport.
  • Supervisors in the executive branch have a heightened personal responsibility for advancing government ethics. You will be required to review the 14 General Principles of Ethical Conduct at 5 CFR 2635.101.
  • You may be required to work odd shifts, change shifts with limited notification, backshifts, of station or overtime.
  • You may be required to travel for this position and may include extended TDY (Temporary Duty) at other work locations including foreign locations.
  • You may be required to obtain and maintain nuclear qualifications.
