The United States Attorney's Office for the Eastern District of New York's mission is to investigate, prosecute and deter violations of federal statutes, enforce and represent the interests of the United States in civil litigation, uphold civil, constitutional and victims' rights, and foster partnerships with other federal, state and local government agencies and community groups.
Duties
This Law Enforcement Coordination Specialist serves as the Manager of the Districts Law Enforcement Coordination (LEC) Program.
If selected for this position, you will join a well-respected team that is responsible for providing Law Enforcement Coordination Specialist support in the Criminal Division, U.S. Attorney's Office, Eastern District of New York, located in Brooklyn, New York, focusing in the areas of building or promoting community engagement as part of Department of Justice initiatives, law enforcement priorities, and crime prevention opportunities.
Typical work assignments will include:
Develop and maintain professional contacts to best accomplish the goals of the Department of Justice and the District.
Partake in the planning and implementation of other district programs and initiatives such as Operation Weed and Seed, Drug Demand Reduction, Project Safe Neighborhoods, etc.
Analyze issues and recommend solutions to the U.S. Attorney on Law Enforcement Corridnation (LEC) matters.

Qualifications
MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS: To be considered minimally qualified for this position, you must demonstrate that you have the required specialized experience for the respective grade level in which you are applying:
To qualify at the GS-12 level, you must possess:
Specialized Experience: At least one year of specialized experience equivalent to the GS-11 level in the Federal service performing (obtained in either the public or private sectors) (3) of the (4) duties listed below:
Analyzing data from a variety of sources to identify and/or recommend solutions to law enforcement issues;
Designing and/or presenting large conferences or training programs that address law enforcement needs;
Managing projects involving the community and local law enforcement;
Formulating and/or establishing operation task forces to address law enforcement issues.
