This position is located in a Field Office of the National Relations Board. The Field Offices represent the actual operating arm of the Agency, the means through which both the Board and the General Counsel reach the public. This position provides support by actively ensuring compliance with remedial provisions of formal and informal cases, exercising judgment and demonstrating a comprehensive knowledge of the NLRB.
Duties
As a Compliance Support Assistant (OA), GS-1802-6/7, your typical work assignments may include:
Researching and responding to questions from the public, discriminatees, and other parties, involving National Labor Relations Board (NLRB) procedures or relating to case status.
Updating a system of records and controls on compliance cases to ensure electronic files are current and documents are readily available; ensuring that all case actions, both those initiated by the regional office and required responsive actions by parties to cases, are accomplished in accordance with legal and regulatory time limits and appropriate procedural requirements; and ensuring information and statistics required for various Washington offices and regional office reports are readily available.
Utilizing computerized contractor services (i.e. Thomas Reuters CLEAR searches, Dunn and Bradstreet Reports, Secretary of State filings) to obtain information relevant to compliance cases; conducting searches on the bankruptcy courts' PACER information services; and updating databases and spreadsheets for the collection of compliance related information and backpay records.
Drafting original correspondence for signature or approval of the Compliance Officer; using existing models of documents, modifying subpoenas, questionnaires, and proof of claims; and drafting questionnaires used to survey parties involved in Board cases, under the direction of the supervisor.

SPECIALIZED EXPERIENCE at the GS-06
To qualify for this position, applicants must have one year of specialized experience equivalent to the GS-05 grade level that has equipped the applicant with the particular knowledge, skills, and abilities to successfully perform the duties of the GS-06, Compliance Support Assistant (OA), and that is typically related to the work of the position to be filled.
Specialized experience includes:
Reviewing correspondences, reports and other documents for proper format, grammar, and punctuation; and
Retrieving, gathering, and generating data, from various sources, as well as, using various word processing and spreadsheet applications.

Specialized experience includes:
Using software applications such as word processing and data bases and internet database applications for data entry, file maintenance and data retrieval; and
Prioritizing and organizing work to meet deadlines, and ensuring compliance with established processes, policies, and procedures; and
Collaborating, communicating, and demonstrating customer service and interpersonal skills with internal and external customers.

TYPING PROFICIENCY
This position requires the skills of a qualified typist. In addition to meeting the experience requirements, you must be able to type at least 40 words per minute based on a 5 minute sample with three or fewer errors. Your response to the typing skill question on the Assessment Questionnaire will be used in your qualification determination.
TIME-IN-GRADE REQUIREMENTS
All current Federal employees must meet time-in-grade requirements to be considered eligible. One year of experience at the GS-05 grade level or equivalent grade level of the federal service is required to qualify for the GS-06 grade level, and one year of experience at the GS-06 grade level or equivalent level of federal service is required to qualify for the GS-07 grade level.
(NOTE: All Agency employees must provide a copy of their SF-50 "Notice of Personnel Action" that indicates proof of status. The SF-50 must include your position, title, series, grade, step, tenure (1 or 2), and type of service (Competitive). As a current NLRB career or career conditional employee in the Competitive Service, you may determine your current status by checking block 24 on your SF-50. Block 24 must reflect "1" or "2". Also, block 34 must reflect "1". A copy of your SF-50 must be provided for
verification.)
