This position is located in the Division of Finance, Office of the Director of the Federal Deposit Insurance Corporation and is responsible for assisting on personnel related matters and providing support services to the Chief Financial Officer Organization (CFOO). Additional selections may be made from this vacancy announcement to fill identical vacancies that occur subsequent to this announcement.

Duties

Develops and makes recommendations on recruitment actions and practices, performance management standards, grievance procedures, promotions, retirements, employee turnover statistics and trends, staffing needs and utilization, position descriptions, equal employment opportunity issues, employee assistance and briefings, incentive awards, ethics programs, employee benefit entitlements, and space management and utilization. Researches, develops, and interprets Corporate and CFOO policies and procedures for management and employees on a wide variety of administrative issues. Responsible for personnel management matters including staffing, classification, and employee relations. Coordinates personnel management matters with supervisors and managers. Administers the CFOO student internship programs. Works closely with Human Resources and hiring officials to craft job validation packages to announce the CFOO internship opportunities, initiate security background investigations, and onboard students in a timely fashion. Makes recommendations in implementing technology solutions for staffing, budget and personnel related data for the organization (e.g., SharePoint). Responsible for the space management program, utilization of equipment, office security, and coordination of administrative services. Works directly with the Corporate Services Branch in allocating space and assures that all moves are efficiently and effectively managed for employees and contractors. Responsible for planning, implementing and overseeing major meetings and conference events by providing input on content, logistical coordination, guidance on leave, training, travel and food service. May also serve as master of ceremony for the event or conference.

Qualifications

Qualifying experience may be obtained in the private or public sector. Experience refers to paid and unpaid experience, including volunteer work done through National Service programs (e.g., Peace Corps, AmeriCorps) and other organizations (e.g., professional; philanthropic, religious/spiritual; community; student, social). Volunteer work helps build critical competencies, knowledge, and skills and can provide valuable training and experience that translates directly to paid employment. You will receive credit for all qualifying experience, including volunteer experience. Additional qualifications information can be found here. CG-13: Applicant must have one year of specialized experience equivalent to at least the grade 12 level in the Federal Service. Specialized experience is experience providing guidance and tasks for administrative programs in the areas of human resources management, facilities management, training and records management; and planning and executing of large conferences for an organization to include serving as a master of ceremonies. Master of ceremonies is defined as a person who facilitates the execution of a conference, including directing conference activities and introducing conference speakers.
