This position is located at Departmental Offices,Management CFO- DAS Mgmt Budget. As a Senior Travel Specialist (Travel Manager), you will be advising and providing recommendations to high-level officials regarding travel regulations as they prepare for travel to domestic and or international localities with high political implications, provides expert advice to officials and other employees on DO, Treasury and Federal travel policies and regulations in written or oral form.

Duties

As a Senior Travel Specialist (Travel Manager), you will: Be responsible for leading a team of travel specialists, overseeing the workload of contractors and other agencies responsible for providing services to the DO Travel Office. Conduct and coordinate projects and the preparation of reports and findings on matters pertaining to domestic and or international travel programs. Advise travelers on proper procedures for completing travel authorizations, travel vouchers for expense reimbursement and similar documents. Maintain clear and accurate records on all official trips. Review and approve requests for Travel cards and diplomatic passports applications.

Qualifications

You must meet the following requirements within 30 days of the closing date of this announcement. SPECIALIZED EXPERIENCE: For the GS-14, you must have one year of specialized experience at a level of difficulty and responsibility equivalent to the GS-13 grade level in the Federal service. Specialized Experience for this position includes: Experience preparing travel authorizations and vouchers and advising officials, program offices, and office travelers of policies, regulations, and relocation procedures; AND Experience resolving technical and functional problems in travel automated systems while serving as a liaison between users, senior leaders, and operations staff; AND Experience preparing duty orders domestically and internationally including obtaining diplomatic passports/visas. The experience may have been gained in either the public, private sector or volunteer service. One year of experience refers to full-time work; part-time work is considered on a prorated basis. To ensure full credit for your work experience, please indicate dates of employment by month/day/year, and indicate number of hours worked per week on your resumé. TIME-IN-GRADE: In addition to the above requirements, you must meet the following time-in-grade requirement, if applicable: For the GS-14, you must have been at the GS-13 level for 52 weeks. TIME AFTER COMPETITIVE APPOINTMENT: Candidates who are current Federal employees serving on a non-temporary competitive appointment must have served at least three months in that appointment.
