Duties
You will provide clerical, administrative and technical support to the Commander and Deputy Sector Commander in Coast Guard (CG) Sector Guam, 14th District in Santa, Rita, Guam. This support covers a wide range of administrative and clerical assistance including travel, time and attendance, scheduling and tracking office deadlines, office reception, the unit awards program, personnel evaluations, meetings and events, and unit public affairs and community outreach. Being a CG civilian makes you a valuable member of the CG team. Typical work assignments include:
Requirements
- U.S. Citizenship is required.
- This position requires a National Agency Check with Inquiries (NACI).
- Applicant must be able to type 40 words per minute.
Qualifications
You qualify for the GS-07 grade level if you possess one year of specialized experience at the GS-06 grade level performing duties such as:
Maintaining supervisor’s calendar, receiving visitors and telephone calls; maintaining official files; controlling suspense items and following up on same; responding to requests of a routine, administrative nature; producing a variety of written documents utilizing office automation software; preparing travel orders, making transportation and making travel arrangements; and reviewing incoming mail for distribution.
Editing material for grammar, punctuation, spelling, and clarity of expression, including the number and distribution of copies, writing responses to invitations, cover letters, internal administrative items and similar items.
Identifying and coordinating alternative courses of action with subordinate organizational units to respond and execute the administrative support.
