This position is located at the Cheyenne VA Healthcare System (CVAHCS) in the Telehealth Department, Patient Care Service Line (PCSL) serving as the Telehealth Clinic Support, Program Support Assistant (PSA) for the following Telehealth Programs: Care Coordination Home Telehealth (CCHT)/Telehealth -CC&ICM Program, Store and Forward Telehealth Services (SFT), Clinical Video Telehealth Services (CVT/Tmed), VA Video Connect Telehealth Services (VVC).
Duties
The responsibility of the Program Support Assistant requires independent actions within broad program directives and supervisory guidelines that involve effective interactions with staff and customers; obtaining and presenting data and information to accomplish requests by the Telehealth Nurse Manager or to perform the duties of the position and establishing program priorities for the successful completion of projects and expedition of correspondence within established policies and procedures which require a high level of personal integrity and confidentiality. Major duties and responsibilities include, but are not limited to the following:
Performs program support for the HT program and assists with any future proposals/projects that are implemented.
Serves as a point of contact for patients, medical center staff, VISN staff, community agencies and various others who contact office.
Responsible for input of required data into VISN databases in a timely fashion.
Responsible for attaining and maintaining basic competencies in operation of telehealth equipment and to assist in troubleshooting problems for patients, answering questions for patients and staff, and supporting the home telehealth team.
Assists daily with non responder phone calls to Veterans, processes enrollments, technology changes, discharges for program and administers letters daily to Veterans based on needs and conditions pertaining to program.
Participate in management of consults, monitor for delays or problems in service delivery and initiates action/coordination to correct and expedite. Recognize the need for and immediately initiates corrective action in special situations and extenuating circumstances and handles conflict and problems in dealing with customers constructively and appropriately.
Maintain calendar of appointments, meetings, conference calls and other various scheduled activities.
Prepare travel requests, schedules conferences, coordinates meetings, and takes minutes of various meetings pertaining to the HT program and any future proposals/projects.
Maintain inventory of office supplies and process reproduction requests; Run Home Telehealth reports, review for accuracy of assigned fees and equipment.
Back up for recording time and leave for service in labor management software; Information Manager Back up-EPAS submissions, quarterly IM reports, IT, and technology assistance.
Work Schedule: Monday through Friday, 0730-1600
Telework: VA supports the use of telework as a way to help attract and retain talented individuals in public service, increase worker productivity, and better prepare the agency to operate during emergencies. This position may be authorized for telework. Telework eligibility will be discussed during the interview process. Telework is AD HOC only. The position is onsite at the Cheyenne VA Healthcare System (CVAHCS), Cheyenne, Wyoming.

GS-06 grade level: One year of specialized experience (equivalent to the GS-06 grade level in the federal service); experience that equipped the applicant with the particular knowledge, skills and abilities (KSA's) and other characteristics to perform successfully the duties of the position, and that is typically in or related to the work of the position to be filled, in the normal line of progression for the occupation in the organization. Specialized experience includes: Knowledge of the duties, priorities, commitments, policies, and program goals of the staff sufficient to perform non-routine assignments; Knowledge sufficient to recognize which information is or is not relevant to the problem at hand; Utilization of knowledge of the program, and advanced computer skills to provide data/reports on an ongoing basis to Home Telehealth Business Office; Skills related to the administrative, clinical and technical aspects of the HT program; Knowledge required to coordinate the work of the office with the work of the other offices, and for recognizing the need for such coordination in various circumstances. Computer knowledge to include programs of Microsoft Office package and other software programs to input and retrieve data as required and/or special reports and uses; Proficient typing skills; Ability to communicate verbally and in writing with a variety of people from different backgrounds and different levels of understanding to include clerical, technical, administrative, and professional(medical and non-medical) people at all levels in the agency and Knowledge of policies, regulations, and philosophy to ensure all actions are in conformance with all statutory and regulatory requirements.
There is no educational substitution for the GS-06 level.
