This position will be assigned to the Air Force Service Center at Port San Antonio, TX. This is a regular full-time category position with guaranteed 40 hours per week. Employees appointed to a regular category position are eligible for benefits.

Duties

Incumbent is responsible for all areas of database management including analysis and maintenance of the Oracle E-Business Suite. Analyzes organizational usage of existing database programs to develop a comprehensive assessment of data management requirements. Assures the efficiency of daily operation, testing, and maintenance of large, complex database programs. Performs feasibility studies to evaluate the effectiveness of database management technology in use and identifies problems and inefficiencies which require correction. Designs and develops changes or modifications to programs when conflicting requirements are found which may result in complex problems for the users. Designs and documents alternatives when existing methods fail to resolve conflicts. Participates with functional users, other IT specialists, and management officials in formulating and testing enhanced system specifications. Designs the physical structure of complex databases considering such things as access methods, frequency of access, storage media, data volatility, and search strategies to be employed. Designs and modifies storage structure and mapping between database functions to improve efficiency, scalability and reliability. Implements strategic data planning practices by structuring data and applications independently to allow data sharing across functions and among using organizations. Perform and support activities for AF security compliance to include but not limited to actions to support Authority To Operate (ATO). Designs and modifies the integration of tools and/or utilities for reporting and feature enhancements as needed. Reporting integration may include analytics capabilities and reports, data warehouse, but not limited to those capabilities. Feature enhancements may include integration of tools that help users/customers reduce their workload, enhance the access to reports, data or invoice status, but not limited to those capabilities. The design and modification and integration of these tools, utilities or other additional applications will be interoperable and compatible for integration with the AF Services Oracle E-Business Suite. These tools/applications will include the implementation of IT capabilities on an enterprise low-code development platform used to develop and deploy web applications on the Oracle platform. Experienced in installing applications, performing upgrades and patches to the applications, starting and shutting down databases, database management, parameters and tuning principles. Experienced in PUSQL script tuning. Experienced with Oracle HTTP/S and/or IAS. Knowledge, Skills and Abilities (KSA's):Your qualifications will be evaluated on the basis of your level of knowledge, skills, abilities and/or competencies in the following areas: Knowledge of plans, database listener, TNS names and SQL net connectivity functionality. Knowledge of configuration management methodologies.
