This position is part of the Office of Management, Department of Energy. As an Executive Correspondence Management Analyst, you will proofread and edit correspondence and documents for the Secretary, Deputy Secretary, and Under Secretaries of Energy, assuring materials are accurate, grammatically correct, follow appropriate formats, and promote clear Government communication that the public can understand and use.

As an Executive Correspondence Management Analyst, you will:
Requirements

- Position is a Testing Designated Position (TDP) subject to applicant testing and random drug testing. Applicants tentatively selected for appointment to this position will participate in drug urinalysis testing.
- This position is not included in a Bargaining Agreement.
- May be required to successfully complete a probationary period.
Qualifications
SPECIALIZED EXPERIENCE REQUIREMENTS:
For GS-11: A qualified candidate's online application and resume must demonstrate at least one year of specialized experience equivalent to the GS-09 level. Specialized experience for this position is defined as meeting ALL of the following:
Proofreading correspondence and documents for senior level officials, assuring materials are grammatically correct, follow appropriate formats, and promote clear communication.
Managing and tracking timely responses to correspondence and reports for senior level officials' review, approval or signature.
Working within an electronic web-based document management environment to assist with executive correspondence management.
OR
Successful completion of a Ph.D. or equivalent doctoral degree or at least 3 full years of progressively higher level graduate education leading to such a degree or LL.M. if related to the duties of the position.
OR
Combination of education and experience.
For GS-12: A qualified candidate's online application and resume must demonstrate at least one year of specialized experience equivalent to the GS-11 level. Specialized experience for this position is defined as meeting 3 out of 4 from the following:
Proofreading and editing correspondence and documents for senior level officials, assuring materials are accurate, grammatically correct, formatted correctly, and promote clear communication that the public can understand and use.
Managing and tracking the flow and status of all documents in their assigned portfolio to ensure timeliness during drafting, rewriting, clearance, and the review and approval process.
Preparing ad hoc reports related to urgent actions, weekly overdue reports, and special status reports and any other special reports as requested by management.
Working within an electronic web-based document management environment.

Examples of qualifying unpaid experience may include: volunteer work done through National Service programs (such as Peace Corps and AmeriCorps); as well as work for other community-based philanthropic and social organizations. Volunteer work helps build critical competencies, knowledge, and skills; and can provide valuable training and experience that translates directly to paid employment. You will receive credit for all qualifying experience, including volunteer experience.

CTAP/ICTAP candidates: To be considered "well qualified" you must (1) meet all of the requirements as described in this section; and 2) be rated "well-qualified", which is defined as having a score of 85 or better.
