This position is located in the Department of Housing and Urban Development, Office of the Chief Human Capital Officer.
Duties
As a Correspondence Analyst, you will:
Serve as a Correspondence Analyst and have responsibility for performing administrative and/or program support work related to correspondence/FOIA control and review such as plan, research, analysis, communication, clearance, and/or liaison.
Prepare responses for signature of the Secretary of Housing and Urban Development, Directors and other high-level officials for general inquiries received from members of Congress, the White House, industry representatives, special interest groups, and the general public.
Research and draft responses for overdue correspondence within the assigned office or organization.
Analyze incoming letters to determine the nature of request and complexity of response required.
Review FOIA requests and assigns to appropriate office(s)/program(s) for response.
Qualifications
You must meet the following requirements within 30 days of the closing date of this announcement.
Specialized Experience: For the GS-12 grade level, you must have one year (52 full weeks) of specialized experience at a level of difficulty and responsibility equivalent to the GS-11 grade level in the Federal service. Specialized experience for this position includes:
Experience working with different offices to communicate internal policies, regulations, decisions or procedures; AND
Experience implementing and managing Freedom of Information Act (FOIA) and Correspondence Tracking procedures and systems working to manage and control of incoming/outgoing mail and other documents; AND
Experience using an automated correspondence control system, to create, track, record status, and close out correspondence.
Experience may have been gained in either the public, private sector or volunteer service. One year of experience refers to full-time work; part-time work is considered on a prorated basis. Time-in-Grade: In addition to the above requirements, you must meet the following time-in-grade requirement, if applicable:
For the GS-12, you must have been at the GS-11level for 52 weeks.
Time After Competitive Appointment: Candidates who are current Federal employees serving on a non-temporary competitive appointment must have served at least three months in that appointment.
