You will serve as a LOGISTICS MANAGEMENT SPECIALIST in the AIR SYSTEMS GROUP, LOGISTICS DEPARTMENT, MAINTENANCE DIVISION of NAVAIRWARCENAC DIV.
Duties
You will establish processes and guidelines that ensure that the supportability analyses performed are logical, analytical, repeatable and auditable, and result in successful identification of maintenance requirements and support alternatives.
You will minimize impact of obsolescence on supportability, providing proactive and reactive Diminishing Manufacturing Sources and Material Shortages (DMSMS) problem identification, notification, solution development.
You will ensure compliance with environmental regulations associated with supportability and logistics in the acquisition of aircraft, aircraft systems, and weapon systems.
You will develop, implement, and sustain maintenance and supply support solutions that are integrated and optimized in support of the Fleet and development of efficient Supply Chain Management (SCM) systems.
You will develop common processes, procedures, and tools for planning, implementing, and sustaining cost-wise readiness improvement initiatives.
You will facilitate organizational, intermediate, and depot level review through tracking and reporting on the status of readiness goals and objectives.
You will provide logistics expertise to Weapons Systems Program Offices and Logistics Managers as required ensuring that designed logistics support systems meet established supportability requirements and performance parameters.

- This position is covered under the Defense Acquisition Workforce Improvement Act (DAWIA). Certification in the Acquisition Functional Area and category assigned to the position is required within established category timeframes.
- This position may require travel from normal duty station to CONUS and OCONUS and may include remote or isolated sites. You must be able to travel on military and commercial aircraft for extended periods of time.
Qualifications
Your resume must demonstrate at least one year of specialized experience at or equivalent to the GS-12 grade level or pay band in the Federal service or equivalent experience in the private or public sector. Specialized experience must demonstrate the following: 1) Utilizing a wide range of Maintenance Planning technical and business systems, processes, and practices used to manage and maintain weapon systems Maintenance Plans; 2) Planning, Reviewing, analyzing, and implementing higher level Logistics procurement policies with regards to Maintenance Planning requirements; 3) Managing project/program requirements, objectives and metrics, and resolving conflicts among schedules, funding, and resources; 4) Identifying opportunities to incorporate process improvements and best practices utilizing customer feedback, internal and external audits, self-assessment, and lessons learned activities; 5) Advising management and colleagues on difficult problems, conducting special studies, proposing options and alternatives, and representing a command.
