This position is located in Lake Mead National Recreation Area. GS-07 Pay Range: $53,309 (step 1) - $69,301 (step 10) GS-09 Pay Range: $63,736 (step 1) - $82,854 (step 10) Open to the first 101 applicants or until 11/21/2023 whichever comes first. Duties

Some of the duties you will perform include, but are not limited to: Participate in the planning and delivery of a full range of IT customer support services to the organization. Install, configure, and test software on customer workstations; and install, configure, upgrade, and troubleshoot hardware and software components. Diagnose and resolve difficult and complex IT problems in response to customer reported incidents. Serve as the park's mobile device coordinator in ordering, configuring, installing, and management of mobile devices. Serve as the park's help desk coordinator in managing help desk tickets and assigning tickets as warranted. Participate in internal staff meetings, share information obtained through research of tracking/ticketing systems, and present alternatives and recommendations for improving customer service delivery. Ensure overall security of physical equipment, data integrity, and accountability. Coordinator of excess IT equipment. Duties will be developmental in nature when filled below the full performance level. Lake Mead National Recreation Area, America's largest reservoir, was created by the construction of the Hoover Dam. With more than 750 miles of shoreline, you can enjoy a day at the beach, take a boat out and disappear for hours or nestle into a cove to try to catch a big one. Located in the western part of Lake Mead National Recreation Area, Boulder Bay stretches more than a mile along the shoreline of the Boulder Basin of Lake Mead. Boulder Beach has access to many recreation opportunities. Boulder Beach, Special Events Beach, Canoe/Kayak Beach, and PWC Beach are 1-2 miles away where you can kayak and jet ski. To explore the park on land, the River Mountains Loop Trail passes right by the campground. This paved trail is more than 30 miles long and leads to the Historic Railroad Trail. Boulder City is a short drive from the Las Vegas Metropolitan area. The work may also involve carrying light item, such as papers, books, or small parts; lifting, with assistance, various pieces of IT equipment such as computers, components, and printers; or driving a motor vehicle. The work does not require special physical effort. Working Conditions: Work is typically performed in an office setting where typical risks and discomforts that require normal safety precautions occur; however, some work may occur in research facilities or industrial and/or maintenance areas that may require the use of hardhats, hearing protection, or other protective equipment.

Qualifications

All qualifications must be met by 11:59 PM EST when the 'applicant cut-off' is reached (which may be sooner than 11/21/2023). Credit will be given for all appropriate qualifying experience. For current Federal employees, if hours worked per week are not included on your resume, you must submit a non-award SF-50 as part of your application to be used to validate your work schedule and determine the amount of specialized experience that you will be granted. An award SF-50 will not be acceptable documentation for which to consider your amount of qualifying experience. For all other applicants who are not current federal employees, your resume must state either "full-time" (or "40 hours a week") or "part-time" with the number of hours worked per week to ensure proper crediting of specialized experience. For periods of time that reflect military service, the DD-214 or Statement of Service is sufficient to meet the full and/or part-time hours requirement as the service dates will be reflected. GS-07 grade level: To qualify, you must possess at least one of the following minimum qualifications: EDUCATION: Successful completion of at least 1 full year of graduate level education in a directly related field. Directly related fields include computer science, engineering, information science, information systems management, mathematics, operations research, statistics, or technology management or coursework that required the development or adaptation of applications, systems or networks and provided knowledge equivalent to coursework listed above. -OR- Superior academic achievement (SAA)- Successfully completion of a bachelor's degree in a field directly related to the duties of this position as listed above or degree that provided a minimum of 24 semester hours in one or more of the fields identified above and required the development or adaptation of applications, systems or networks AND meet one of the following Superior Academic Achievement provisions: (1) Class Standing: rank in the upper third of the graduating class in the college, university, or major subdivision , such as College of Liberal Arts or School of Business Administration, based on the completed courses; OR (2) Grad-Point Average: earn a grade-point average of (a) 3.0 or higher out of a possible 4.0 ("B" or better) based on the average of the required courses completed in the major field, or the required courses completed during the final two years of the curriculum. Note: grade-point averages will be rounded to the one decimal place, for example, 2.95 = 3.0, 2.94 = 2.9, and 3.45 = 3.5; OR (3) Membership in a National Scholastic Honor Society: elected membership in one of the national scholastic honor societies. Freshman scholastic honor societies cannot be used to meet the requirements of this provision. You must provide transcripts. -OR- EXPERIENCE: At least one full year of specialized experience comparable in scope and responsibility to the GS-05 grade level in the Federal service (obtained in either the public or private sectors). This experience includes activities such as: (1) providing guidance to customers to resolve IT issues; (2) troubleshooting routine IT problems and issues of end user devices and components; (3) documenting and initiating responses to security problems; (4) entering IT customer request into a tracking/ticketing system. You must include hours per week worked. In addition, possess IT-related experience in the following four competencies: Attention to Detail - Is thorough when performing work and conscientious about attending to detail by ensuring system/software configurations match established specifications or by reviewing data to identify patterns or problems Customer Service - Works with clients and customers to identify their needs and implement standard products or services to meet those needs Oral Communication - Expresses technical information orally in order to complete assignments Problem Solving - Selects the appropriate method or procedure to troubleshoot a routine technical issue -AND/OR- GS-09 grade level: To qualify, you must possess at least one of the following minimum qualifications: EDUCATION: Successful completion of at least master's degree or equivalent graduate degree or 2 full years of progressively higher-level graduate education leading to a master's degree or equivalent graduate degree in computer science, engineering, information science, information systems management, mathematics, operations research, statistics, or technology management or degree that provided a minimum of 24 semester hours in one or more of the fields identified above and required the development or adaptation of applications, systems or networks. You must include transcripts. -OR- EXPERIENCE: At least one full year of specialized experience comparable in scope and responsibility to the GS-07 grade level in the Federal service (obtained in either the public or private sectors). This experience includes imaging computers and installing, testing, and troubleshooting software applications and hardware components; providing timely IT assistance to end users and managers through a helpdesk ticket system and making appointments with end users; documenting software application and hardware configuration details for future use by IT staff providing courteous face-to-face or telephone technical support and training to end users from multiple areas. You must include hours per week worked. In addition, possess IT-related experience in the following four competencies: Attention to Detail - Is thorough when performing work and conscientious about attending to detail by ensuring system/software configurations match established specifications or by reviewing data to identify patterns or problems Customer Service - Works with clients and customers to identify their needs and implement standard products or services to meet those needs Oral Communication - Expresses technical information orally in order to complete assignments; provides clear and convincing oral presentations and guidance Problem Solving - Identifies problems; Selects the appropriate method or procedure to troubleshoot a technical issue Volunteer Experience: Experience refers to paid and unpaid experience, including volunteer work done through National Service programs (e.g., Peace Corps, AmeriCorps) and other organizations (e.g., professional; philanthropic; religious; spiritual; community, student, social). Volunteer work helps build critical competencies, knowledge, and skills and can provide valuable training and experience that translates directly to paid employment. You will receive credit for all qualifying experience, including volunteer experience.
