This is a National Guard Title 32 Excepted Indefinate Position for a QUALITY ASSURANCE SPECIALIST (ELECTRONICS), Position Description Number D1683P01 and is part of the 245th ATCS, SC Air National Guard.
Duties
This position is located in an Air National Guard (ANG), Air Traffic Control Squadron (ATCS). The purpose of the position is to assist work center and staff function supervisors with the identification and resolution of management and maintenance issues and concerns in order to effectively assess the Squadrons' ability to meet the mission requirements of fielding a complex and operating a fixed and deployable complex Air Traffic Control weapons system. Reviews policies, procedures, and techniques of assigned work centers used in support of programs essential to ACS ATCS daily operations, training, and readiness missions. Advises the Chief, Airfield Systems Flight of methods or processes to significantly improve the quality of maintenance as well as the overall management posture within the maintenance activity. Assists staff and production supervisors to determine the root causes of problems and helps devise corrective actions. The employee in this position is required to maintain the qualifications and required competency levels in their assigned career field.

Qualifications
THIS IS A NATIONAL GUARD TITLE 32 EXCEPTED SERVICE POSITION OPEN TO AREA OF CONSIDERATION (AOC):
Open to Areas 1.
Area 1: Current Permanent On-Board dual status technicians employed with the SC Air National Guard. (Does not include temporary and indefinite technicians).
Area 2: Current military members of the SC Air National Guard.
Area 3: Current nationwide Air National Guard military members, AF Reserve military members, and RegAF. (Must be willing to transfer to the SC Air National Guard).
Min/Max Military Grades: TSgt/E-6, MSgt/E-7
GENERAL EXPERIENCE: Experience, education, or training involving planning, developing, or administering quality assurance programs (i.e., supporting the development, acquisition, production, use, maintenance, storage, and supply of products concerned with the systematic prevention of defects and non-conformances, the identification of unsatisfactory trends and conditions, and the correction of factors which may contribute to defective items). Experience using computer and automation systems.
SPECIALIZED EXPERIENCE: Must have at least 36 months experience, education, or training involving a thorough knowledge of product or range of products involved, the manufacturing methods and techniques, special processes, test and performance requirements; and skill in developing plans and programs. Experience possessed by an expert in the area of specialization able to give technical direction to otherwise competent workers. Experience determining operations when difficult and questionable phases of malfunctions are found. Experience which required significant and concrete work accomplishments (i.e. special projects, working groups, or detailing assignments) involving interpersonal contacts in a quality assurance or related field. Experience in dealing with management principles and supervisory responsibility for the function required by type of position to be filled and the organization involved.
MILITARY REQUIREMENTS: Military skill set is determined by AFSC requirements. Upon selection, individuals must be assigned to a compatible military AFSC in accordance with statutes and National Guard Bureau regulations and must obtain/maintain all requirements of the AFSC.
