This position is eligible for the Education Debt Reduction Program (EDRP), a student loan payment reimbursement program. Duties
Located in the Rogue Valley, White City allows easy access to Metro-area of Medford while remaining engrossed with nature. White City is an unincorporated community in Jackson County, Oregon, in the Rogue Valley. It is about nine miles north of Medford and 34 miles north of the California border. Enjoy the scenic drives to either Crater Lake, Oregon's only National Park, and to the mountain resort Lake of the Woods. The incumbent is assigned to the Specialty Care Service Line as the Associate Chief of Staff, Specialty Care (ACOS SC). The ACOS SC oversees all specialty care health services at the VA Southern Oregon Rehabilitation Center and Clinics, including Audiology, CPAP, Dental, Dermatology, Optometry, Ortho, Physical Medicine and Rehab, Podiatry, Radiology, Respiratory Therapy, Sleep Medicine, Cardiology, Diabetes, Pain Medicine, PT/OT, Chiro, and Employee Health.
Duties include but are not limited to:
Provides direct patient care through assessment, ordering, monitoring, and follow up where needed by the facility
Provides initiation of appropriate health care consults and referrals for all direct care patients as applicable
Provides consultation to health care providers about assessment findings and treatment plan for all direct-care patients to ensure that care is coordinated, collaborative, and integrated within the Medical Center
Develops, implements, and documents within the clinical treatment plan for all direct-care patients as indicated and appropriate for the specific job setting and duties of the provider
Complies with all Service Line documentation requirements, including standards for timely completion of Electronic Medical Health Record (EMHR) patient contact notes, use of required documentation templates, clinical reminders, treatment plans, and risk assessment protocols
Adheres to all Facility and Service Line policies and practices for delivering direct patient care, including but not limited to direct risk assessment and risk mitigation practices for potentially dangerous behavior (suicide and violence), timeliness of care and access standards, professional conduct requirements, and EMHR documentation conventions
Develops an overarching strategic vision and plan for the Specialty Care Service Line, disseminates the plan to facility staff via respective Service Chiefs, and ensures progress toward the strategic goals
Exercises supervisory, program management, and administrative responsibilities that are complex in scope and that constitute a significant portion of the facility

Physician Assistant Basic Requirements
Master's degree in any discipline or a bachelor's degree in any discipline with one year of experience as a Physician Assistant ~AND~
Successfully passed the PA National Certifying Exam (PANCE) (or are you in the process to taking the exam) ~AND~
Currently hold, or will hold, a full and unrestricted license to practice in a State, Territory, or Commonwealth of the United States or in the District of Columbia.
Additional Requirement: Experience managing a diverse service across care-settings; rural VHA experience; experience providing oversight to patient safety and access during times of critical staffing; and organizational change management leadership experience
Grade Determinations:
Physician Assistant-IV (PA-IV)
i. Experience. PA clinical leaders/administrative leaders require five years of experience which included leadership assignments that involved formulating program objectives and priorities, implementing plans and practices, and interpreting regulatory and organizational guidance to develop and implement policies and/or procedures.
ii. Demonstrated Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities. PAs at this level are not required to meet each individual KSA listed below to qualify, but should be able to demonstrate, develop, or acquire those not met upon appointment for PA-IV:
a. Ability to assess information and make recommendations that may significantly affect the content, interpretation, or development of programs concerning critical matters or key issues within the health care system.
b. Ability to schedule and supervise staff, students, or ancillary personnel, to include conducting performance evaluations.
c. Skill in planning, organizing, directing, and controlling an integrated program.
d. Skill in design, management of budget, and cost benefit analysis to ensure optimal stewardship of resources.
e. Ability to analyze complex medical care, organizational processes and/or systems, and develop and implement solutions that improve outcomes at the program or service level.
f. Ability to develop and recommend new or revised policies or procedures to justify program goals and motivate assigned personnel.

The full performance level of this vacancy is Grade 4.
Physical Requirements: This position requires light lifting (under 15 pounds); light carrying (under 15 pounds); use of fingers; near vision correctable at 13" to 16" to Jaeger 1 to 4; far vision correctable in one eye to 20/20 and to 20/40 in the other; see computer screen; ability to distinguish basic colors; hearing (aid may be permitted).
