THIS IS A NATIONAL GUARD TITLE 5 EXCEPTED SERVICE POSITION.
This National Guard position is for a SUPERVISORY SUPPLY TECHNICIAN, PD# T5811100 and is part of the RI 143d Logistics Readiness Squadron. The primary purpose is to serve as a first level supervisor for the Flight Service Center Element, providing planning, directing, organizing and exercising control over non-supervisory employees assigned to the Maintenance Support Section.
Duties
Interprets, plans, establishes, and prioritizes work requirements for affected elements and personnel. Manages the Career Field Education and Training Plan (CFETP) for the Maintenance Support Section. Ensures a Master Training Plan is developed and OJT is planned, developed, and conducted for all personnel assigned to the sections to ensure taskings are met. Determines training needs of subordinates and ensures training is provided. Prepares, approves, and assigns official job descriptions and performance appraisals. Advises employees on work and administrative matters. Serves as the technical expert in resolving work related problems, which cannot be resolved by subordinates. Plans and organizes the work performed in the sections to provide optimum service, efficiency, and productivity. Develops and establishes performance standards and rates the performance of subordinates. Determines section operational effectiveness by analyzing historical and current data, preparing comparison graphics and utilizes same for purpose of setting goals. Prepares guidance to subordinates in helping to achieve set goals. Performs other duties as assigned.
Requirements
- To be considered for this Title 5 Excepted Service position, you must be a U. S. citizen.
- May be required to successfully complete a probationary period.

- Work may require access to classified information. Must be able to obtain and maintain the appropriate security clearance.
- The incumbent of this position description must have, at a minimum, a completed National Agency Check (NAC) prior to position assignment.
- Irregular and/or overtime (compensatory) hours may be required to support operational requirements or contingencies or may be required to work hours outside of the normal duty day.
- The employee may be required to travel in military and/or commercial vehicles to perform temporary duty assignments.
- Federal employment suitability as determined by a background investigation.
Qualifications
SPECIALIZED EXPERIENCE:
One year specialized experience equivalent to at least the next lower grade in this occupational series (2005-series).
If you have experience in Materiel Management and working with Aircraft Maintenance Mechanics for requisitioning aircraft parts, it is strongly encouraged that you apply.
