Duties
As a OPERATIONS OFFICER at the GS-0301-12/13 some of your typical work assignments may include:
Coordinates and provides initial analysis and recommendations on the operations and execution of OPX OAIs. Primary OAI is Counter-Small Unmanned Aircraft System (C-sUAS) operations.
Oversees and coordinates complex projects, taskings, actions, and programs that ensure mission success.
Initiates and evaluates the progress of ongoing projects, initiatives and tasks to identify deficiencies and recommends solutions to resolve complex issues.
Determines and recommends sequence and timing of complex key program events and milestones, decision methods and alternative approaches to achieve established mission goals and facilitate DTRA's involvement in significant and complex events and activities.
Reviews and releases analytic products and recommends improvements and solutions based on customer feedback.
Develops and reviews releasable products, publications and coordinates responses to Enterprise Task Management Software Solution (ETMS2) tasking's which support the coordinated execution of critical DTRA actions and activities.
Reviews and analyzes applicable operations plans, directives and policies.
Determines impact on current operations and develops concept of operations, standard operation procedures and updates processes and procedures accordingly.
Keeps abreast of and analyzes new/revised policies, procedures, regulations, directives, legislation, etc. in order to determine the need to develop plans and instructions for proper integration and implementation.
Plans, organizes, schedules, directs, and coordinates special studies, projects, and related actions to assure compliance with management objectives, approved resources, milestone/schedule feasibility and user requirements.

Qualifications
You may qualify at the GS-13, if you fulfill the following qualifications:
One year of specialized experience equivalent to the GS-12 grade level in the Federal service:
Experience within an agency to perform comprehensive analysis and studies in assigned areas of responsibility.
Experience with key personnel and lines of authority within an agency to sequence complex key program events and milestones, decision methods and alternative approaches to achieve established mission goals.
Experience with pertinent laws, regulations, policies and precedents applicable to key programs within the area of responsibility.
Experience with evaluating analytical processes and products and making recommended improvement and solutions based on customer feedback.
Experience with communicating both orally and in writing in order to express ideas, concepts, methods, analyses, evaluations and recommendations in a lucid, logical and convincing manner, to a variety of audiences including management, professional, technical, and administrative at all organization and hierarchical levels with equal facility and clarity.

You may qualify at the GS-12, if you fulfill the following qualifications:
One year of specialized experience equivalent to the GS-11 grade level in the Federal service:
Experience assisting within an agency to perform comprehensive analysis and studies in assigned areas of responsibility.
Experience assisting with key personnel and lines of authority within an agency to sequence complex key program events and milestones, decision methods and alternative approaches to achieve established mission goals.
Experience assisting with pertinent laws, regulations, policies and precedents applicable to key programs within the area of responsibility.
Experience assisting with evaluating analytical processes and products and making recommended improvements and solutions based on customer feedback.
Experience assisting with communicating both orally and in writing in order to express ideas, concepts, methods, analyses, evaluations and recommendations to a variety of audiences including management, professional, technical, and administrative.
Experience refers to paid and unpaid experience, including volunteer work done through National Service programs (e.g., Peace Corps, AmeriCorps) and other organizations (e.g., professional; philanthropic; religious; spiritual; community, student, social). Volunteer work helps build critical competencies, knowledge, and skills and can provide valuable training and experience that translates directly to paid employment. You will receive credit for all qualifying experience, including volunteer experience.
