About the Position: This position is located at Letterkenny Army Depot in Chambersburg, Pennsylvania, with the Directorate of Missile and Aerospace Readiness (DMAR).
Duties
Direct subordinates in the recertification and maintenance of missiles.
Assist personnel in areas of human resources such as training, on-boarding new employees, union interaction, and employee discipline.
Supervise the performance of the technical and mechanical processes required to support ammunition activities.
Oversee the repair/testing technicians who specialize in the areas of electronics and instrumentation to conformance of processing standards.
Manage multiple programs such as safety, quality, manpower, procurement, lean, and supply.
Requirements
- Appointment may be subject to a suitability or fitness determination, as determined by a completed background investigation.
- Secret security clearance required.
- Business travel-temporary duty (TDY) may be required up to 15%.
- Mobility Agreement required to assigned areas world-wide to support the mission.
- Pre-employment and annual physical examinations required
- Position is subject to a pre-employment drug screening, and random testing thereafter.
- Ammunition certification in accordance with AMC-R 350-4 is required within one year of appointment.
- Arms, Ammunition, and Explosives Screening in accordance with AR 190-11 required initially and annually.
- One-year supervisory probation period may be required.
- Financial Disclosure OGE-450 required upon entering the position and annually.
- This is a temporary position scheduled to last one year and may be extended up to 5 years.
- This position is covered by the 1996 Lautenberg Amendment to the Gun Control Act of 1968; persons convicted of a misdemeanor or felony crime of domestic violence are not eligible.
Qualifications
This position may be filled as a temporary promotion or temporary reassignment not to exceed 1 year by a current permanent Army employee. Temporary promotions or reassignments may be extended up to a maximum of five years and may be made permanent without further competition.
Position may be filled as a temporary appointment not to exceed 1 year if candidate is NOT a current permanent Army employee. Temporary appointments may be extended up to a maximum of three years.

In order to qualify, you must meet the experience requirements described below. Experience refers to paid and unpaid experience, including volunteer work done through National Service programs (e.g., Peace Corps, AmeriCorps) and other organizations (e.g., professional; philanthropic; religious; spiritual; community; student; social). You will receive credit for all qualifying experience, including volunteer experience. Your resume must clearly describe your relevant experience.
Specialized Experience: One year of specialized experience which includes: 1) overseeing the canning/de-canning, disassembly/assembly of air and missile systems components; 2) planning workload for missile systems' production areas to maintain product throughout; and 3) advising employees on areas of human resources, training, and safety and quality programs. This definition of specialized experience is typical of work performed at the next lower grade/level position in the Federal service (GS-11).
Some Federal jobs allow you to substitute your education for the required experience in order to qualify. For this job, you must meet the qualification requirement using experience alone-no substitution of education for experience is permitted.
