The primary purpose of this position is to assistance to higher graded analyst by providing centralized administrative support of specified areas for the office. To provide assistant level support of management and/or program analytical functions. The work supports effort to evaluate or improved the efficiency, effectiveness, and productivity of organizations.
Duties
Develops and implements group administrative policy and procedures, determining degree of impact, analyzes operating effectiveness, and provides effective guidance and assistance in monitoring special projects.
Prepares reports for high-level employees describing problems that are recurring or causing significant delays or costs, the corrective actions needed or taken, and the need for additional time or resources.
Prepares a wide variety of recurring and nonrecurring correspondence, reports, and other documents and reviews and finalizes correspondence/documents prepared by others in handwritten or electronic drafts.
Uses multiple office automation software with varied functions to produce a wide range of documents that often require complex formats, such as graphics or tables within text, editing and reformatting electronic drafts, and updating or revising existing databases or spreadsheets.
Performs administrative office support functions and maintains cooperative working relationships with co-workers, related functions, customers, and operating officials.

Qualifications
Experience requirements are described in the Office of Personnel Management (OPM) Qualification Standards for General Schedule Positions, Clerical and Administrative Support Positions. Due to the use of 120-day rosters, this period of experience may be completed within 120 days of the closing date of this announcement.
SPECIALIZED EXPERIENCE: Applicants must have at least one year (52 weeks) of specialized experience at the next lower grade GS-05, or equivalent in other pay systems. Examples of specialized experience includes administering policies and procedures pertaining to management publications; studies administrative procedures and processes, ascertains nature of potential problems; interprets and implements new and changing installation reporting criteria which pertains to the accumulation, compilation, and preparation of mishap statistic; knowledge of computer programs such as Microsoft Excel, Power Point, Access, outlook and MS Word as well as other office automation software.

FEDERAL TIME-IN-GRADE (TIG) REQUIREMENT FOR GENERAL SCHEDULE (GS) POSITIONS: Merit promotion applicants must meet applicable time-in-grade requirements to be considered eligible. One year at the GS-05 level is required to meet the time-in-grade requirements for the GS-07 level. TIG applies if you are in a current GS position or held a GS position within the previous 52 weeks.
KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS AND ABILITIES (KSAs): Your qualifications will be evaluated on the basis of your level of knowledge, skills, abilities and/or competencies in the following areas:

Knowledge of one or more information management areas, such as records, forms, directives, correspondence, and/or mail.
Ability to use office automation tools and techniques to generate reports, briefing materials, and/or comparable documents.
Ability to research, analyze, interpret and apply rules, regulations, and procedures.
Knowledge of applicable safety, fire, and health guidelines and regulations.
Knowledge of good housekeeping.
PART-TIME OR UNPAID EXPERIENCE: Credit will be given for appropriate unpaid and or part-time work. You must clearly identify the duties and responsibilities in each position held and the total number of hours per week.
VOLUNTEER WORK EXPERIENCE: Refers to paid and unpaid experience, including volunteer work done through National Service Programs (i.e., Peace Corps, AmeriCorps) and other organizations (e.g., professional; philanthropic; religious; spiritual; community; student and social). Volunteer work helps build critical competencies, knowledge and skills that can provide valuable training and experience that translates directly to paid employment. You will receive credit for all qualifying experience, including volunteer experience.
