The primary purpose of this position is to perform work in support of management analysis function and assist in administering, promoting, and publicizing the Air Force Suggestion Program and other productivity enhancement programs. Performs assistance to higher graded analyst by providing centralized administrative support and control of specified areas for the office.

Duties

Provides support for a variety of management and administrative projects, programs or studies received from higher graded analyst(s) and supervisor. Participates in special studies/inspections relative to problems, functions, and operations as directed by higher authority. Periodically reviews internal procedures for assigned management programs and processes to ensure compliance with applicable directives and instructions. Works to achieve and support quality improvement in all products and services. Actively supports and participates in Lean Events applicable or related to assigned duties. Performs administrative office support functions and maintains cooperative working relationships with coworkers, related functions, customers, and operating official.

Qualifications

Experience requirements are described in the Office of Personnel Management (OPM) Qualification Standards for General Schedule Positions, Clerical and Administrative Support Positions. Due to the use of 120-day rosters, this period of experience may be completed within 120 days of the closing date of this announcement. SPECIALIZED EXPERIENCE: Applicants must have or will have within 120 days at least one year (52 weeks) of specialized experience at the next lower grade GS-6, or equivalent in other pay systems. Examples of specialized experience includes administering policies and procedures pertaining to management publications; studies administrative procedures and processes, ascertains nature of potential problems; interprets and implements new and changing installation reporting criteria which pertains to the accumulation, compilation, and preparation of mishap statistics. NOTE: Due to the use of 120-day rosters, this period of experience may be completed within 120 days of the closing date of this announcement. FEDERAL TIME-IN-GRADE (TIG) REQUIREMENT FOR GENERAL SCHEDULE (GS) POSITIONS: Merit promotion applicants must meet applicable time-in-?grade requirements to be considered eligible. One year at the GS-06 level is required to meet the time-in-grade requirements for the GS-07 level. TIG applies if you are in a current GS position or held a GS position within the previous 52 weeks. KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS AND ABILITIES (KSAs): Your qualifications will be evaluated on the basis of your level of knowledge, skills, abilities and/or competencies in the following areas: 1. Knowledge of the concepts, principles, and practices relating to Air Force, Command, Center, and Wing instructions, directives, policies, etc. on various managerial programs. 2. Knowledge and skill to gather, assemble, and analyze facts, draw conclusions, devise solutions to problems, and identify changes and trends. 3. Skill in applying analytical and evaluative techniques to the identification, consideration, and resolution of issues or problems of a procedural or factual nature. 4. Ability to plan, organize work and meet deadlines. 5. Ability to communicate effectively, both orally and in writing, to gain cooperation from others through tact, courtesy, and diplomacy. 6.. Ability to access or locate information through the use of a personal computer and software programs. 7. Ability to apply lean, safety, security and health principles, practices, and procedures and to understand and apply internal management procedures PART-TIME OR UNPAID EXPERIENCE: Credit will be given for appropriate unpaid and or part-time work. You must clearly identify the duties and responsibilities in each position held and the total number of hours per week. VOLUNTEER WORK EXPERIENCE: Refers to paid and unpaid experience, including volunteer work done through National Service Programs (i.e., Peace Corps, AmeriCorps) and other organizations (e.g., professional; philanthropic; religious; spiritual; community; student and social). Volunteer work helps build critical competencies, knowledge and skills that can provide valuable training and experience that translates directly to paid employment. You will receive credit for all qualifying experience, including volunteer experience.
