You will serve as a HEALTH TECHNICIAN (OPTOMETRY) in the QUALITY AND OPERATIONAL SUPPORT DIRECTORATE of NAVOPHTHALSUPPTRACT VA.
Duties
You will operate testing equipment in the Optometry department to complete assignments.
You will prepare and send spectacle orders to the optical fabrication for manufacture.
You will dispense, adjust, fit and repair eyeglasses to resolve optical and visual complaints.
You will receive and respond to inquiries from patients concerning a variety of medical, personal, and administrative matters.
You will keep order or receipt documentation organized so documentation can be easily located.
Requirements

Qualifications
Your resume must demonstrate at least one year of specialized experience at or equivalent to the GS- 06 grade level or pay band in the Federal service or equivalent experience in the private or public sector. Specialized experience must demonstrate the following:
Experience conducting technical ophthalmic production-oriented tasks and/or customer support tasks for eligible beneficiaries.
Experience maintaining the command's Defense Optical Fabrication Enterprise Management System (DOFEMS) database using knowledge gained thorough experience or formal training.
Experience receiving, editing, processing the DD-771 and contacting the clinic or patient if information was submitted incorrectly.
Experience dispensing, adjusting, and repairing glasses for active duty, retired, and other personnel eligible for prescription eyewear.
Experience assisting customers with ordering, fitting and dispensing of spectacles.

Education
