About the Position: You will function as a Project Manager for the US Army Corps of Engineers, Great Lakes and Ohio River Division, working under general supervision of the Section Chief, who makes assignments in terms of overall objectives and any limitations on the scope of projects. Plan and carry out assignments independently, setting own priorities and coordinating work, as necessary.

Duties

As a Life-Cycle Project Manager you will manage the planning, scoping, development, design, construction, and direction of important civil works, inter-agency, and inter-governmental projects. Work collaboratively across functionally diverse teams to develop solutions to technically complex water resource problems and engineering challenges. Oversee project planning, execution, control and closure of civil works projects associated with flood risk management, navigation, hydropower, ecosystem restoration, water supply, and other water resource related missions. Coordinate planning, design, cost-engineering, construction, and environmental restoration, etc. for engineering projects of substantial scope and complexity. Control and manage project milestones and budgets from planning through construction and initial operations. Facilitate development of resource loaded schedules, monitor project performance using Earned Value Management (EVM) metrics, analyze financial data using Automated Information Systems, and support formulation of risk-informed decisions. Lead project delivery teams (PDTs) and manage resources in planning, engineering, contracting, construction, real estate and other supporting activities with delegated decision authority to meet project objectives. Foster positive working relationships internally while serving as the District's primary point-of-contact for assigned projects.
