These positions are located in Gateway National Recreation Area, in the Facility Division. The incumbent is a Maintenance Mechanic who supports the park's maintenance program for area with the GATE parks.
These are Career/Career-Conditional Full-time appointment.
Travel, transportation, and relocation expenses will not be paid. All travel, transportation, and relocation expenses associated with reporting for duty in this position will be the sole responsibility of the selected employee.

Duties
Plumbing: Performing the full range of journey level plumbing tasks including installing and maintaining supply and disposal systems and equipment such as: sewage, water, oil, and gas distribution systems; hydrants, water fixtures, lavatories, showers, sinks, fire sprinkler systems, dishwashing machines, etc.
Carpentry: Constructs, alters, modifies or repairs a wide range of features in buildings, Government Quarters and other Facilities.
Masonry: Maintains, constructs, repairs, or alters a variety of structures and surfaces of block, brick, stone and other related materials.
Roofing: Must determine roofing work to be completed, locating leaks and determining their cause and extent of damage,
selecting the work method to be followed for repair and determining and using a greater variety of roofing materials and accessories such as shingles, roofing felt, and asphalt. Responsible for installing new roofs, including metal flashing, gutters, and other roofing accessories, and repair or replace sheathing, boards, beams, and joists.
Painting: Paints, decorates, and refinishes a variety of interior and exterior surfaces of offices, housing units, ancillary structures, and equipment. Preparation of surfaces for resurfacing.
