You will serve as an Office Automation Clerk in the Family Housing Division of MARINE CORPS BASE.
Duties
You will utilize a computer, type a variety of administrative documents such as letters, messages, memorandums, endorsements, tabular date, reports, and similar material from handwritten drafts.
You will enter information into spreadsheets, databases, graphics, or word processing documents.
You will research information contained in request by checking housing records, contacts with originator for additional information, and contact unit assigned to obtain data.
You will prepare correspondence and reports.
You will be responsible for forwarding copies of printed documents to the Family Housing On-Base Referral Section for future actions regarding assignment.
Requirements
- Must be a US Citizen.
- Must be determined suitable for federal employment.
- Must participate in the direct deposit pay program.

Qualifications
Applicants must have at least one year of general experience in federal service or equivalent experience in the private or public sector that demonstrates progressively responsible clerical, office, or other work that indicates ability to acquire the particular knowledge and skills needed to perform the duties of the position being filled.

This position requires the ability to type at least 40 words per minute. Your response to the typing skill question on the Occupational Questionnaire will be used in your qualification determination.
Education
In lieu of general experience, you may qualify with the following education or combination of both education and experience:
Successfully completed at least 2 full academic years of education above high school
OR
A combination of experience and education as described above that equates to one year of experience
