This position is located in the Bureau of Educational and Cultural Affairs, in the Office of the Executive Director (ECA/EX). This position serves as ECA’s Senior Advisor for Diversity, Equity, Inclusion, and Accessibility (DEIA) in developing strategic leadership initiatives for equity-informed planning and decision-making processes and in the development and pursuit of long-term DEIA goals.
Duties
Serves as the Senior Advisor for DEIA to the ECA Executive Director, ECA’s senior leadership and Program Offices on all matters relating to DEIA and leads the Bureau’s DEIA Initiatives.
Implements mechanisms for monitoring and evaluating the DEIA strategic plan and other DEIA related efforts.
Serves as the main point of contact within ECA for all matters related to DEIA.

Qualifications
Applicants must meet all the required qualification requirements described below by the closing date of this announcement. NOTE: Applicants must meet time-in-grade and time after competitive appointment requirements, by the closing date of this announcement.
Time-In-Grade Requirements: Federal applicants must have served 52 weeks at the next lower grade to satisfy time-in-grade restrictions, per 5CFR 300, Subpart F.
Applicants must have 1 year of specialized experience equivalent to the GS-14 level in the Federal service which provided the applicant with the particular knowledge, skills and abilities to perform the duties of the position. Qualifying specialized experience must demonstrate the following:
Experience leading and supporting engagement and communication in support of diversity, equity, inclusion, and accessibility (DEIA) objectives.
Experience analyzing program areas, furnishing executive level advice and assistance and recommending actions required to implement and maintain diversity, equity, inclusion, and accessibility (DEIA) initiatives.
Experience serving as a point of contact for an official bureau, office, or organization for all matters related to DEIA.
There is no substitute of education for specialized experience for the GS-15 position.
