About the Position: This position is located in the Madigan Army Medical Center, Tacoma, Washington. Tacoma is a diverse city nestled between Seattle and the state capital of Olympia. Duties

Perform the full range of tasks associated with the journeyman level pipe fitter. Install, modify, repair, clean, adjust and maintain new and existing high pressure piping systems and equipment. Perform preventive maintenance as assigned on systems and equipment. Operate motor vehicle on the installation to pick up and deliver supplies to work area.

Requirements

• Appointment may be subject to a suitability or fitness determination, as determined by a completed background investigation.
• Due to the nature of this position, employees are required to work both planned and unscheduled overtime.
• This position requires the completion of a pre-employment Physical Examination and an annual examination thereafter to ensure the continued, required level of physical health and ability or fitness to perform the duties of the position.
• This position has a requirement to lift up to 65 lbs. in the regular performance of duties.
• This position has a Temporary Duty (TDY) or business travel requirement of 10% of the time.
• This position requires the employee to use personal protective equipment provided by the employer.
• The duties of this position require the incumbent to possess or obtain and maintain a valid state Driver's License in one of the 50 U.S. states or possessions to operate vehicles.
• Due to the nature of this position, employees are required to work weekends.
• This position is designated as Inclement Weather Essential. The incumbent must make every attempt to report for work on time and/or remain on duty during severe weather conditions.
• This position is subject to screening and update of required immunizations unless exempted for medical or administrative reasons.

Is frequently exposed to the possibility of strains, cuts, scrapes, bruises, bums and infections. Is occasionally exposed to the possibility of broken bones.
