About the Position: This position serves as Tools and Parts Attendant performing complex explosives assembly line operations, receives, stores, identifies, issues, and delivers items to production line and maintains records.

Duties

Perform explosive production, rework, or maintenance operations, such as operating automatic and semi-automatic machines with several controls using judgment and manual skill to determine how much to adjust controls. Research materials to determine special tooling needed to accomplish specified work. Serve as the organizational Calibrator Coordinator for the Directorate. Ensure proper requisition of tooling, parts, and equipment through researching manuals, catalogs, and similar sources.

Requirements

  • Appointment may be subject to a suitability or fitness determination, as determined by a completed background investigation.
  • The duties of this position meet the criteria for compliance with Federal and Department of the Army Drug Free Workplace Programs. Detection of the presence of drugs is warranted.
  • This position is subject to a pre-employment screening, and random testing thereafter, to include testing based on reasonable suspicion and testing due to direct involvement with an on-duty accident.
  • This position is a Domestic Violence Offender Gun Ban commonly referred to as the Lautenberg Amendment. This act bans individuals convicted of misdemeanor domestic violence and certain others from possession or access to firearms or ammunition.
  • This position requires the completion of a pre-employment Physical Examination and an annual examination thereafter to ensure the continued, required level of physical health and ability or fitness to perform the duties of the position.
  • This position has been designated Mission Essential. In the event of severe weather conditions or other such emergency type situations you are required to report to work or remain at work as scheduled to support mission operations.

Must possess the ability to operate an automatic single operation machine with few controls, recognize damaged machines and products, apply related production operations instructions and drawings to determine tools needed to accomplish specific work, and use a computer. - Failure to meet this Screen Out Element will result in an ineligible rating. Ability to Do the Work of the Position without More Than Normal SupervisionAbility to Interpret Instructions, Specifications, etc. (Other Than Blueprint Reading)Knowledge of Equipment Assembly, Installation, and Repair, etc.Knowledge of MaterialsTechnical Practices (Theoretical, Precise, Artistic)Use of Measuring Instruments Physical Efforts: Perform work on hard surfaces and in work areas that require sitting, standing, walking, stooping, bending and occasionally must work in tiring and uncomfortable positions. Frequently lifts and carries items up to 30 to 40 lbs. Occasionally handles items up to 50 lbs. Hand trucks, forklifts, dollies, and other workers are available for assistance with heavier items. All lifts over 50 pounds will be assisted with a two person lift or using a mechanical handling equipment lifting device. The two person lift limit is 100 pounds and will only be used for single event, non-routine lifts. Working Conditions: Work is performed in areas with various degrees of heating, cooling, ventilation, and lighting. Exposed to the noise of machinery in operation, required to stand on floors made of concrete, conductive composition, required to wear protective clothing such as specially treated coveralls, respirators, safety glasses or goggles, frequently exposed to moisture and wet floors as a result of cleanup operations in powder working areas, exposed to fumes from acids and explosives, exposed to the possibility of explosion and flash fire and there is a chance of injuries ranging from loss of life or limbs to burns, cuts, bruises, sprains and nausea. Indoor/outdoor work is required regardless of prevailing weather conditions.
