Duties
WHAT YOU'LL BE DOING DAY TO DAY
As a Legislative Analyst, you will use your knowledge of and experience with the Administration for Strategic Preparedness and Response to optimize business results and customer experience by:
Establishing and maintaining relationships with ASPR staff to gain insight into their program accomplishments as well as needs to advance organizational effectiveness.
Leading the identification, analysis, and development of outreach and engagement strategies to highlight major organizational gaps, needs, and achievements to strengthening underlying authorities and understanding with Congressional partners.
Serving as a senior legislative analyst and staff for the IO and the ASPR.
Developing, reviewing, and consolidating materials to explain ASPR's preparedness and response role in mitigating the lasting impact of public health and medical incidents to Members of Congress and respond to Member's questions.
Leading, in coordination with the Director of the Office of Legislative Affairs, Congressional communications to highlight and advance legislative and policy issues affecting both ASPR and the preparedness and response community.

Qualifications
WHAT WE ARE LOOKING FOR
Minimum Qualifications:
Must have at least one-year of specialized experience, equivalent to the GS-13 level in the Federal service performing all of the following:
Reviewing and analyzing proposed legislation that impact preparedness and response related to public health and medical incidents;
Performing negotiation techniques to serve as an expert in developing legislative policy and directing strategy to ensure maximum consideration of that policy during the legislative process to advance and strengthen the Agency;
Producing written documents for senior officials including briefing materials, legislative summaries, background papers, and correspondence; and
Serving as a liaison to Members of Congress or their staff to provide technical assistance on programs and initiatives related to preparedness and response operations to public health and medical incidents.
