As a National Bank Examiner/Bank Examiner (Large Bank Field Examiner) with emphasis in Safety and Soundness, you will serve as an examiner in the front office supporting the EIC in the execution of the team's supervisory strategy.

Duties
As a National Bank Examiner/Bank Examiner (Large Bank Field Examiner) with emphasis in Safety and Soundness, you will:
Plan, organize, and control supervisory activities within large banks. Analyze supervision findings and other sources of information to identify areas of concern, determine methods of resolution, and recommend appropriate courses of action and/or follow-up to remedy deficiencies. Develop examination supervisory strategies, determine the scope of supervisory activities, and provide guidance and direction to supporting examiners during the examination.
Prepare communications to foster positive changes within the bank. Prepare supervisory documentation consistent with OCC standards. Conduct or participate in discussions with senior bank management on supervisory findings and recommendations.
Evaluate the effectiveness of safety and soundness functions, identify systemic risks and trends, and recommend changes in examination policy and procedures.
Conduct special studies/reviews, respond to ad hoc requests for supervisory, operational, and other information, and perform administrative and operational tasks to include coordinating/conducting quality assurance reviews for key supervisory information systems.
Maintain effective communications internally and externally to the OCC and ensure that appropriate coordination and follow-up activities take place with respect to the assigned supervisory activities.
Provide leadership and training to other examiners, including assigned staff. Serve as a technical advisor to management, office staff, and field examiners.
Qualifications
You must meet the following requirements within 30 calendar days after the closing date of this announcement:
You must have one year of specialized experience at a level of difficulty and responsibility equivalent to the NB-V band level. Examples of specialized experience for this position include:
Conducting examinations or reviews to determine a financial institution's condition and compliance with banking laws and regulations, including assessing risk, and developing recommendations to mitigate risk; AND
Serving as an advisor or consultant on bank supervisory issues and risk mitigation issues.
The experience may have been gained in the public sector, private sector, or through volunteer service. One year of experience refers to full-time work; part-time work is considered on a prorated basis.
