Duties

You will plan and deliver customer support services, including installation and configuration of hardware and software for various types of computer equipment, troubleshooting, customer assistance and desk side instructions. You will consult with senior staff members and administrators to resolve complex information systems issues. You will provide Information Assurance (IA) guidance and procedures to users as well as information regarding system outages and other events that may impact the capability of the system. You will provide technical support to users for computer software. You will perform emergency virus rescue operations by isolating problems, tracking the infection, removing the virus computer from the network and counseling employees. You will maintain knowledge of state-of-the-art IT hardware operations, hardware interfaces, communication protocols, operating systems, software and communication capabilities.

Requirements

  • This position is designated as a Cyber IT/Cybersecurity Workforce position. You must obtain and maintain the credentials as described in SECNAV M-5239.2 for specialty area Systems Security Analyst level II within 12 months of appointment.
  • Successful completion of a pre-employment drug test (including marijuana) is required. A tentative offer of employment will be rescinded if you fail to report to the drug test appointment or fail the test. You will be subject to random testing.

Qualifications

Your resume must also demonstrate at least one year of specialized experience at or equivalent to the GS-07 grade level or pay band in the Federal service or equivalent experience in the private or public sector. Specialized experience must demonstrate the following: Providing information technology customer support services (installation, configuration, troubleshooting, customer assistance, training etc) to ensure IT systems operate with reliability and efficiently for an organization. Your experience must reflect skill in the following areas: attention to detail, customer service, oral communication, and problem solving. Education may be substituted for, or combined with the Specialized Experience above. Transcripts must reflect the knowledge, skills, abilities and competencies in order to perform the duties of the position. Substitution of education is as follows:

Master's degree or equivalent graduate degree.
OR
2 full years of progressively higher level graduate education leading to a Master's degree or equivalent graduate degree.
