About the Position: This position is located at the U.S. Army National Guard Readiness Center, AVN & IW AVN/Safety Division in Arlington, Virginia. About the Surrounding Area: Situated in Northern Virginia on the south bank of the Potomac River directly across from Washington D.C. Arlington is headquarters to many departments and agencies of the federal government, including the Department of Defense and is the location of many national memorials and museums.

Duties

Serve as the Director, Army National Guard (ARNG) senior civilian advisor for ARNG Aviation and Safety Division. Work with military and civilian management at all levels in order to coordinate ARNG Aviation and Safety requirements with senior officials having proponent responsible for Army Aviation and Safety requirements. Conduct long range planning to meet future ARNG aviation and safety requirements and coordinates the necessary changes affecting ARNG aviation programs. Participate in development of Army aviation strategic planning and requirement documents. Mentor and professionally develops more than 90 military and civilian personnel of the Aviation and Safety Division.

This definition of specialized experience is typical of work performed at the next lower grade/level position in the federal service (GS-14).
