About the Position: Crane Army Ammunition Activity (CAAA) mission statement: To receive, store, ship, produce, renovate and demilitarize conventional ammunition, missiles and related components to meet contingency requirements in support of the warfighter.
Duties
Receives purchase requests from program directors of operating divisions, offices, or projects; screens needs for appropriateness, completeness, the reasonableness of information and specifications, and proper approval.
Processes small purchase orders for a variety of local and non-local market items utilizing the Government Purchase Card (GPC).
Procures materials, supplies, services, and equipment by open market methods.
Considerable research and contacts with suppliers, manufacturers, or non-local markets are required to locate sources for specialized items or services for installation.
Negotiates terms of purchase orders by analyzing pricing on purchase orders, blanket purchase agreements, or issuing delivery orders under the terms of existing contracts.
Uses automated data processing (ADP) equipment to prepare a variety of narrative or tabular materials (e.g., correspondence, reports, charts, statistical tables, and manuals).
Requirements
- Appointment may be subject to a suitability or fitness determination, as determined by a completed background investigation.
- Financial Disclosure Statement OGE Form 450. This position requires pre-employment financial disclosure and annually thereafter in accordance with DoD Directive 5500-7-R.
- This position has a Temporary Duty (TDY) or business travel requirement of 25% of the time.
- Acquisition Back to Basics: FOUNDATIONAL: This is an Army Acquisition, Logistics and Technology Workforce position. Selectee must meet position requirements for CONTRACTING certification within 36 months as of entrance on duty.

A. You must have One year of specialized experience equivalent to the NK-01(GS-04) grade level in the Federal service that demonstrates knowledge of purchasing regulations, methods, procedures and business practices required to make broad and in-depth purchases of services, parts, and supplies.

B. have successfully completed a full four-year course of study leading to a bachelors? degree. (Note: You must attach a copy of your transcripts.)
