About the Position: Crane Army Ammunition Activity (CAAA) mission statement: To receive, store, ship, produce, renovate and demilitarize conventional ammunition, missiles and related components to meet contingency requirements in support of the warfighter.
Duties
Processes small purchase orders for a variety of local and non-local market items utilizing the Government Purchase Card (GPC).
Conducts solicitations through General Services Administration (GSA) E-Buy, Computer Hardware, Enterprise Software and Solutions (CHESS) vendors, Dept. of Defense (DOD).
Procures materials, supplies, services, and equipment by open market methods.
Negotiates terms of purchase orders by analyzing pricing on purchase orders, blanket purchase agreements, or issuing delivery orders under the terms of existing contracts.
Deals directly with representatives of business and commercial industry and reaches mutual agreement on terms of procurement and obtains timely delivery of supplies and services at the most reasonable prices.
Uses automated data processing (ADP) equipment to prepare a variety of narrative or tabular materials (e.g., correspondence, reports, charts, statistical tables, and manuals).
Performs basic office automation duties involving one or more of the following software/hardware: standardized word-processing, email, electronic calendar, suspense system, and predefined spreadsheet and/or database.
Processes all actions required in performing simplified purchasing procedures and necessary to update Stock Fund Acquisitions Authority and Subsidiary Ledger.
Maintains source selection lists and historical data on small businesses and minority enterprises, and other information upon which to base decisions under the Small Business and Labor Surplus Program.
Requirements
- Appointment may be subject to a suitability or fitness determination, as determined by a completed background investigation.
- Appointment to this position is subject to a one-year probationary period unless the appointee has previously met the requirements as described in 5 CFR Part 315. While probationary the incumbent can be terminated with limited appeal rights.
- This position requires the incumbent be able to obtain and maintain a determination of eligibility for a Secret security clearance or access for the duration of employment. A background investigation and credit check are required.
- This position requires submission of a Financial Disclosure Statement, OGE-450, upon entering the position and annually thereafter
- This position has a Temporary Duty (TDY) or business travel requirement of 25% of the time.
- Acquisitions Back To Basics: This is an Army Acquisition, Logistics and Technology Workforce position. Selectee must meet position requirements for (Contracting Professional-C) certification within 36 months as of entrance on duty.

Specialized Experience:
Applicant's resume must have at least one year of specialized experience equivalent to the NK-02(GS-07) grade level in the Federal service which includes: Demonstrating knowledge of purchasing regulations, methods, procedures, and business practices required to make broad and in-depth purchases of services, parts, and supplies.
This definition of specialized experience is typical of work performed at the next lower grade/level position in the federal service (NK-02/GS-07).
