THIS IS A NATIONAL GUARD TITLE 32 EXCEPTED SERVICE POSITION.
This National Guard position is for a ORDNANCE EQUIPMENT MECHANIC SUPERVISOR, Position Description Number D2572000 and is part of the HI 154 MXS, National Guard.
LOCATION: 154th Maintenance Squadron, Hawaii Air National Guard, Joint Base Pearl Harbor Hickam, Hawaii
Duties
SUMMARY OF DUTIES: The purpose of this position is to provide munitions supervision in one or more of the three functional sections to support the state and designated agencies and perform associated nonsupervisory work. Perform Munitions Accountable Systems Officer (MASO) delegated duties in the absence of the MASO.
Assign duties to subordinates.
Initiates and submits requests for personnel actions for subordinate personnel and to fill position vacancies.
Responsible to Flight Chief for overall management production sections: Precision Guided Munitions (PGM), Line Delivery, Munitions Support Equipment Maintenance, and Conventional Munitions Maintenance (CMM).
Responsible to Flight Chief for overall management of Materiel Sections; Stockpile Management, Inspection, and Operations.
Responsible to Flight Chief for overall management of systems sections: Munitions Control, Mobility, Training, Combat Plans, and Plans and Scheduling.
Performs other duties as assigned.

Requirements

- This is an excepted service position that requires membership in a compatible military assignment in the employing state's National Guard, required prior to the effective date of placement.
- Selectee will be required to wear the military uniform.
- Acceptance of an excepted service position constitutes concurrence with these requirements as a condition of employment.
- Males born after 31 December 1959 must be registered for Selective Service.
- Federal employment suitability as determined by a background investigation.
- May be required to successfully complete a probationary period.
- Participation in direct deposit is mandatory.

- Must be in the grade of E-6 to E-8.
Qualifications

SPECIALIZED EXPERIENCE: In addition to the journeyman level knowledge, must have 36 months experience which demonstrates the ability to plan, direct, and organize work assignments for lower grade personnel. Experience which required the review of work requirements and establish priorities to meet deadlines. Experience that provided knowledge of various lines of work performed by this function. Experience which demonstrates the ability to supervise or the potential to perform such duties as evidenced by the ability to communicate knowledge of general supervisory concepts, and knowledge of shop processes. Experience in adapting existing equipment and techniques to new situations.

2. Must have a valid driver's license (to get a gov cert for munitions transport)
MILITARY TECHNICIAN COMPATIBILITY POSITION: Prior to placement in this position, the selected applicant must be assigned to an appropriate military position and must meet the definition of a dual status technician in accordance with 32 U S C 709.
NOTES TO CANDIDATES:
a. Situations of inversion of military rank are not permitted, i.e., a military technician may not be militarily senior to his or her full-time supervisor.
b. Authorization for payment of PCS expenses will be granted only after determination is made that payment is in the best interest of the Hawaii National Guard.
