This position is located in the Division of Information Technology, Application Platforms and Delivery Branch, Headquarters of the Federal Deposit Insurance Corporation and participates in architecting, designing and developing software systems toward aligning business, data, and technology components to meet customer needs and IT strategy. Duties

Serves as a computer scientist and technical lead for the software development of multiple medium to high cost, medium to high impact, and/or medium to high complexity large scale IT Software Projects or assigned automated information systems (AISs) to support business data customer needs.

Qualifying experience may be obtained in the private or public sector. Experience refers to paid and unpaid experience, including volunteer work done through National Service programs (e.g. Peace Corps, AmeriCorps) and other organizations (e.g., professional; philanthropic, religious spiritual; community; student, social). Volunteer work helps build critical competencies, knowledge, and skills and can provide valuable training and experience that translates directly to paid employment. You will receive credit for all qualifying experience, including volunteer experience.  Additional qualifications information can be found here.  Basic Requirements:  Bachelor's degree in computer science or bachelor's or higher degree with 30 semester hours in a combination of mathematics, statistics, and computer science. At least 15 of the 30 semester hours must have included any combination of statistics and mathematics that included differential and integral calculus. All academic degrees and course work must be from accredited or pre-accredited institutions. To qualify at the CG/GS-13 grade level, you must have at least one-year of specialized experience equivalent to at least the grade CG/GS-12 grade level in the Federal service. Specialized experience is defined as experience designing and developing software systems that align business, data and technology components to meet customer needs and using approaches that ensure new and existing development and software design activities are integrated with security, privacy and IT operations (such as Software Development Life Cycle or DevSecOps).
