This position is located at the Albany VAMC, Facilities Management Service.

Duties

Duties include but not limited to: Incumbent is responsible for planning, coordinating and directing the work of the Boiler Plant, Chiller Plant, Sections of Facilities Management Service. And the Operations Section of the Facilities Management Service which is comprised of the Electric & Elevator Maintenance Shop, as well as the Plumbing, & Heating, Ventilation and Air Conditioning Shops, Incumbent is required to plan and schedule work assignments on a long-range basis for accomplishment by the shops, plants and sections supervised within schedules and priorities established by the Facilities Operations Manager and the Facility Manager. He/she analyzes work schedules, determines manpower requirements and plans work assignments, considering trades involved, availability of manpower and equipment, deadlines and other work projects for which responsible. Provides information and advice to Facility Manager on such matters as ability to accomplish work assignments as scheduled, changes in production techniques or other changes in facilities. Prepares the annual budget for funds needed for maintenance and repair including contracted services for building service equipment, and all other equipment, excluding biomedical equipment.
