This position is located in Department of Homeland Security, U.S. Coast Guard Deputy Commandant for Mission Support, ASS COMDT FOR HUMAN RESOURCES/SADI/(CG1) CIVILIAN HUMAN RESOURCES DIRECTORATE (CG-12) COMMADANT (CG-127) 

Duties

This position serves as the expert Diversity, Equity and Inclusion Total Workforce Advisor to Coast Guard (CG) Leadership and maintains internal and external responsibilities with COMDT, Department of Homeland Security (DHS) and other Federal Agencies.

Requirements

  • Males born after 12/31/1959 must be registered for Selective Service.
  • U.S. Citizenship is required.
  • This position requires a NACI Investigation.

Qualifications

For the GS-14 Level you must have at least one (1) full year of specialized experience (equivalent to the GS-13 or higher level in the Federal service) serving as the workforce policy advisor as a national program expert for diversity management; developing analytical reports and analysis on budgeting for programs; designing and conducting comprehensive management studies of various human resources systems and programs; providing expert guidance in the resolution of complex problem or issues impacting agency problems, such as those associated with diversity marketing and advertising products and services; analyzing communications on the most complex, politically sensitive, complex or far reaching matters to assure conformance with executive policy; and preparing responses that are consistent with agency policy. National Service Experience (i.e., volunteer experience): Experience refers to paid and unpaid experience, including volunteer work done through National Service programs (e.g., Peace Corps, AmeriCorps) and other organizations (e.g., professional; philanthropic; religious; spiritual; community, student, social). Volunteer work helps build critical competencies, knowledge, and skills and can provide valuable training and experience that translates directly to paid employment. You will receive credit for all qualifying experience, including volunteer experience. The Office of Personnel management (OPM) must authorize employment offers made to current or former political appointees. If you are currently, or have been within the last 5 years, a political Schedule A, Schedule, C, Non-career SES or Presidential Appointee employee in the Executive Branch, you must disclose this information to the Human Resources Office.
