About the Position: Position is located at US Army Human Resource Command, Physical Disability Agency, Physical Evaluation Board at Ft. Sam Houston, TX. Incumbent receives, reviews, controls, and processes physical disability cases from the Army's Medical Treatment Centers for all servicing areas.
Duties
Receive, review, control, and process physical disability cases from the Army's Medical Treatment Centers for all servicing areas. Receives and independently reviews Medical boards (all categories).
Distribute work to other office personnel based on the complexity of the case, workload, and the particular phase of processing.
Review and analyze the most complex and/or controversial cases submitted by each Medical Treatment Facilities (MTF) Medical Evaluation Board (MEBD).
Serve as disability case manager to ensure all documentation required to make sound decisions are present, and if not, coordinates with the appropriate source (soldier, physician, counsel, chain-of-command, etc) to obtain same.
Review clinical records, health records, military personnel records, court-martial orders, reports of investigations, elections, requests for continuance on active duty, and other documentation to determine if all procedural requirements.
Requirements
- Appointment may be subject to a suitability or fitness determination, as determined by a completed background investigation.
- The employee must be able to obtain and maintain a Secret Security Clearance.
- This position requires a qualified typist.

Specialized experience: Your resume must reflect at least one year of specialized experience equivalent to the GS-07 level in the federal service which includes: experience providing technical advice and guidance regarding a wide variety of military Human Resource programs that include, but are not limited to Physical Evaluation Board, Medical Evaluation Board, Physical Disability Agency, Temporary Disabled Retired List, Strength Management, Personnel Readiness, Awards, In/Out processing, Evaluations, Separations, Flags, and Personnel Actions for the military Human Resource management program.
Time in Grade Requirement: Applicants who have held a General Schedule (GS) position within the last 52 weeks must have 52 weeks of Federal service at the next lower grade or equivalent (GS-07).
Education
