This is not a (drug) testing designated position (TDP).
This position is located in the Small Business Administration, Office of the Chief Information Officer. The incumbent supports MySBA specific information technology investments, program and project management, and systems development initiatives and provides SBA with cost-effective and high performing solutions applications that improve business processes.
Duties
This position is ONLY open to surplus and displaced Small Business Administration employees eligible for the Career Transition Assistance Program (CTAP); displaced Federal employees in the local commuting area eligible for the Interagency Career Transition Assistance Program (ICTAP); and VEOA eligibles.
To be eligible for CTAP or ICTAP consideration, you may only apply for a position that is at or below the grade level, and does not have greater promotion potential, of the position from which you are being (or have been) separated.
Supports MySBA Working Groups and sub-Working Groups in relation to Data, Customer Experience (CX), Shared Services Governance, and Enterprise Architecture.
Architects and builds an environment that allows for automated configuration and continuous deployment using modern tools (e.g., Chef, CircleCI).
Develops back-end infrastructures using established languages including designing and maintaining relational databases (e.g., MySQL, PostgreSQL) as well as NoSQL databases (e.g., Cassandra, MongoDB).
Develops front-end websites and pages using web standards (HTML5, CSS3, RESTful APIs) and modern technologies (e.g., React) ensuring accessibility compliance.
Incumbent manages MySBA projects and ensures that the project is within scope and on schedule, and maintains budget, as applicable. Incumbent achieves operational objectives by contributing information and recommendations to strategic plans and reviews and contributes to or develops business cases.
The incumbent ensures MySBA application security measures are used throughout the stages of the application lifecycle to include design, development, deployment upgrades, or maintenance.
Requirements
- You must be a U.S. Citizen.
- Appointment will be subject to the applicant's successful completion and favorable adjudication of a background investigation.
- You may be required to serve a one-year probationary period.
Qualifications
For the GS-14: One year of specialized experience equivalent to the GS-13 grade level in the Federal service, obtained in either the private or public sector performing the following:
Developing and implementing new and/or improved Information Technology systems to meet mission requirements; and
Leading teams, projects, or working groups in the development of agile Information Technology systems; and
Coordinating IT plans, installation, configuration, and/or testing of system environments to support IT architecture: AND,
Applying advanced IT systems cyber security principles, concepts and methods, and infrastructure protection environments; and
Working with information cyber security Federal regulations, standards, policies, requirements, and guidelines concerning information technology to properly provide support and advice
