This position is located in the Department of Housing and Urban Development, Office of the Chief Administrative Officer.
Duties
As a Facility Services Officer, you will:
Manage a staff charged with delivering facilities management products and services that facilitate Departmental activities, anticipate clients requirements, and are integrated with other Departmental and OCHCO initiatives and programs.
Identify future facilities requirements, develops long and short-term plans to address the requirements identified, and evaluates performance against objectives specified by plans.
Establish and maintain productive working relationships with other key members of the OCHC staff, other Federal and Departmental organizations, and with vendors and representatives of private concerns to coordinate programs and activities for which he or she is responsible.
Develop and implement creative internal workforce management policies and programs that positively influence employee's ability to deliver high quality services.
Qualifications
You must meet the following requirements within 30 days of the closing date of this announcement.
Specialized Experience: For the GS-15 grade level, you must have one year (52 full weeks) of specialized experience at a level of difficulty and responsibility equivalent to the GS-14 grade level in the Federal service. Specialized Experience for this position includes:
- Supervising or leading a team of Facilities Management professionals responsible for operations of Government facilities; AND
- Providing advisory services to an organization and assistance to high-level managers on issues covering all management areas; AND
- Performing a wide variety of analytical studies and projects, aimed at improvements and long-range planning.
Experience may have been gained in either the public, private sector or volunteer service. One year of experience refers to full-time work; part-time work is considered on a prorated basis. Time-in-Grade: In addition to the above requirements, you must meet the following time-in-grade requirement, if applicable:
For the GS-15 you must have been at the GS-14 level for 52 weeks.
Time After Competitive Appointment: Candidates who are current Federal employees serving on a non-temporary competitive appointment must have served at least three months in that appointment.
