This position is located in the Department of Housing and Urban Development, Office of Field Policy and Management.
Duties
As a Special Assistant, you will:
Present the views of the Assistant Deputy Secretary for Field Policy and Management in correspondence and other communications with agency managers to program officials.
Advise and assist the Assistant Deputy Secretary for Field Policy and Management in the resolution of broad policy program issues and problems
Formulating and effectuating management policies in the field of labor relations
Qualifications
You must meet the following requirements within 30 days of the closing date of this announcement.
For the GS-13: You must have one year of specialized experience at a level of difficulty and responsibility equivalent to the GS-12 grade level in the Federal Service. Specialized experience for this position includes:
Developing presentations on policies for use by staff and Senior Managers.
Using effective oral and written communication skills.
Developing presentations and presenting them to stakeholders and senior leadership
For the GS-14: You must have one year of specialized experience at a level of difficulty and responsibility equivalent to the GS-13 grade level in the Federal Service.Specialized experience for this position includes:
Analyzing policies, procedures and programs to produce recommendations to senior management and stakeholder leaders.
Advising staff or Senior Management on programs, initiatives, issues, and conflicts to formulate findings that will improve program effectiveness and efficiency
Proofreading and writing high level written documents.
Experience serving as a spokesperson to outside organizations and communicating issues in a public setting
Experience may have been gained in either the public, private sector or volunteer service. One year of experience refers to full-time work; part-time work is considered on a prorated basis. Time-in-Grade: In addition to the above requirements, you must meet the following time-in-grade requirement, if applicable:
For the GS-14 you must have been at the GS-13 level for 52 weeks.
For the GS-13 you must have been at the GS-12 level for 52 weeks
Time After Competitive Appointment: Candidates who are current Federal employees serving on a non-temporary competitive appointment must have served at least three months in that appointment.
