About the Position: This position is a DOD Cyber Excepted Service (CES) personnel system position in the Excepted Service under 10 USC 1599f. Employees occupying CES positions are in the Excepted Service and must adhere to U.S. Code, Title 10, as well as Department of Defense Instruction 1400.25. This position is located at the 7th Signal Command, NETCOM, Fort Eisenhower, GA.
Duties
Serves as the Assistant Chief of Staff, G4 Logistics for the U.S. Army 7th Signal Command (Theater).
Conducts a continuous review and evaluation of the G4 operation to ensure program adequacy and effectiveness.
Directs the preparation and approves staff studies, fact sheets, evaluations, and other information for the Chief of Staff and/or the Commanding General.
Directs the preparation, reviews, and approves command regulations, directives, policies, and publications on logistics activities.
Manages command programs and budget dealing with mission requirements for logistics.
Exercises managerial authority over the work performance for approximately 20 civilian and military staff within the G4.
Plans subordinates ’work assigns work and ensures appropriate quantity and quality of work and approves leave.
Represents 7th SC (T)and/or provides representation at meetings at lateral and higher echelons to present the Command's view and gain acceptance of recommendations or developments on matters affecting the 7th SC (T) programs.
Requirements
- Appointment may be subject to a suitability or fitness determination, as determined by a completed background investigation.
- Three year trial/probationary period may be required.
- Position is designated as Non-Critical Sensitive. Must be able to obtain and retain a Secret security clearance.
- TDY may be required up to 10% of the time.
- One-year supervisory probationary period required. A one-year probationary period is required if the selectee has not previously met this requirement.

To qualify based on your experience, your resume must describe one year of specialized experience that demonstrates the possession of knowledge, skills, abilities, and competencies necessary for immediate success in the position. Such experience is typically in or directly related to the work of the position to be filled. Specialized experience would be demonstrated by Performing overall contracting, supply, maintenance, and related logistics functions which support the command's mission.; managing contracting/acquisition processes and procedures related to information technology and facility construction, renovation, and sustainment. ; providing supply, transportation, and maintenance activities, in support of information technology operations and requirements servicing large size and/or multi-mission military installations.; And providing supervisory oversight, direction and guidance to subordinate staff.
