About the Position: Serves as the Facility Manager for U.S. Army John F. Kennedy Special Warfare Center and School (USAJFKSWCS), Fort Liberty, NC.

Duties

Advise Chief of Staff COFS Engineer on multiple facilities in various locations. Provides direct support to ensure facilities are adequate to meet unit training requirements. Reviews and completes inspections to determine barracks conditions or requirements. Responsible for the periodic or scheduled assessments, audits, reviews, and inspections to determine barracks conditions or requirements. Prepare work orders which include drawings of existing areas involved, changes required, and detailed descriptions of the work equipment involved to plan and assign work.

Requirements

  • This position requires the completion of a pre-employment Physical Examination and an annual examination thereafter to ensure the continued, required level of physical health and ability or fitness to perform the duties of the position.
  • Appointment may be subject to a suitability or fitness determination, as determined by a completed background investigation.
  • Incumbent must be able to obtain and maintain a Secret security clearance.
  • TDY travel is required 10% of the time.
  • One year trial/probationary period may be required, unless previously completed.

Specialized Experience: One year of specialized experience which includes management and Coordination of facility repairs and renovations, maintenance, utilities, and fire prevention. Experience with preparing work orders and managing the process through execution. Responsible for the management of space allocation over multiple buildings. Responsible for barracks management and occupation accountability. Experiencing in providing and reporting logistical guidance, policies and procedures to Commands DPW public works and Construction entities. The OPM Qualification Standard provides examples such as: Managing a maintenance program for office or apartment building complexes, hospitals, recreation facilities, military, or other special-purpose installations, including planning maintenance activities, and developing preventive maintenance programs. Conducting surveillance activities over construction and maintenance operations performed by a variety of private contractors, including reviewing project plans and specifications for workability, informing contractors of construction and reporting requirements, and supervising operations for conformance with project plans. Performing maintenance or construction work, including estimating material and labor costs for a variety of construction or maintenance projects (such as construction or maintenance of brick, frame, structural steel, reinforced concrete, and other type structures ranging from one- or two-story buildings to larger structures), directing actual work operations, and maintaining appropriate contacts with the organization funding the project]. This definition of specialized experience is typical of work performed at the next lower grade/level position in the federal service (GS-11).
